The flowers in the garden are all white and red. Mo Dao left early in a strange land, and wild incense came from all sides.
The spring before Liuzi Temple has been crippled, and the spring in Xinqing is particularly cold. Hedges are not protected by flowers, only spider webs.
It's sunny and rainy, the roads are wet and dry, and the mountains are half light and half thick. On the lawn in the distance, I saw the backs of cows, and there were people in places where new seedlings were sparse.
The background of the creation of four quatrains is that Baijiadu is on the Xiangjiang River west of Lingling, Yongzhou (now Hunan). These four poems were written in the spring of the first year of Longxing, Xiaozong in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 163). This year was Yang Wanli's last year as Lingling Cheng, and he left his post in autumn and returned to Lin 'an, the capital.
Appreciating these four landscape poems is to grasp a detail and express poetic things in ordinary things.
The first song, in the Xiangjiang River crossing, did not write about lakes and mountains, scenery on both sides of the strait, but caught a fishing boat in the middle; I don't write about fishing boats, but my eyes focus on fishermen; However, he didn't write about the fisherman's clothes, but only his freely evacuated clothes, without a bun, which reflected the poet's appreciation of the workers' informality and casual clothes. The picture shows a concentrated luminosity, which is very impressive.
The second song "Walking on a Wild Path" provides readers with only a simple and concentrated impression: wild flowers that are red and white all the way and fragrant in all directions. The poet focuses on the natural scenery of the countryside, and the most dazzling scenery is the flowers that flatter pedestrians. At this time, everything outside his body was not in his eyes. He saw only white and red flowers and smelled only the fragrance coming from all directions, so he put this instant feeling into his poem. This poem is not particularly amazing, but the poet's celebration is extremely vivid.
The third song was written through Liu Zongyuan's ancestral hall. Liu Zongyuan was once demoted to Yongzhou Sima. If another poet living in Yongzhou passes by Liuzi Temple, he will inevitably miss the past. But Yang Wanli's eyes were fixed on the spider web on the fence post. Hedge poles were originally woven on fences to protect flowers, but later became the basis for spiders to weave webs. This is a common little thing in people's gardens and houses. Writing in poetry gives people an unusual sense of intimacy and also shows the poet's childlike innocence. Of course, we can find poetry from ordinary trifles, and it seems impossible if it contains some implication. Good poetry often leaves readers room for full imagination.
The above three capitals focus on painting a certain point in the landscape, just like the characteristic lens in the movie; And the fourth song seems to write a panoramic view, a distant view at a glance. However, after careful observation, what is placed in the center of the picture is still a business scene that attracts vision. Roads and distant mountains are only the background of the picture, while the highlights are the backs of cows in the grass and people among the seedlings. The poet's intention always gives freshness to ordinary things.
This group of poems fully embodies the characteristics of Yang Wanli's poetic style, which is fresh and lively, clear and easy to take off, and the language is unpretentious.
