The story of Dayu and Nv Jiao, a nine-tailed fox family in Tushan.

A few days ago, I saw a poem "White Fox Years Old, Kyubi no Youko Fat", which I thought was beautiful, so I checked the source and it turned out to be painted.

Years old white fox, Kyubi no Youko is fat.

I grew up in a family, and I get along well with you.

A white fox walking on a mountain road has nine thick and strong tails. If men and women get married, it will make the family prosperous.

This poem describes the marriage story of Dayu and Tushan Stone Nv Jiao. The story happened when Dayu was in charge of water conservancy. Once he went to Tushan to play, he suddenly felt that he was old enough to get married.

At this moment, a nine-tailed white fox just came to him. In ancient times, the appearance of the white fox with nine tails was a symbol of good luck. This also indicates that Dayu will get an ideal wife.

Later, I met Nv Jiao, a stone painter. They fell in love at first sight and soon got together. Tushan people wrote this song to praise that their marriage is arranged by heaven, which can bring good luck and make their families prosperous.

Therefore, Dayu and Nv Jiao are a match made in heaven, which is everyone's wish, and has also received everyone's blessing and support.

Beautiful scenes described in the song and love stories of national heroes. I wanted to know more about the story between them, but after learning more information, I found that there was no touching love story at all, just a political alliance marriage.

Yu, surnamed Si, was born, and was the founding king of Xia Dynasty. He is a legendary sage emperor in ancient China, and he is as famous as Yao and Shun. His most outstanding achievement is that he has been praised for controlling the catastrophic floods, and designated the territory of China as Kyushu. Later generations called him Dayu.

According to legend, during the reign of Emperor Yao, the floods in the Central Plains were serious and the people were miserable. Emperor Yao ordered Gun to control water, and Gun failed to build a dike to control water for nine years, and was killed by Shun in Yushan. After that, Yu, the son of Gun, succeeded his father to continue to control water. Using the natural trend of water flowing downwards, nine rivers were dredged, and finally the flood was controlled.

Yu's spirit of water control has been praised so far, serving the people wholeheartedly, working hard and taking the lead in setting an example.

There is also a description in Everything is Wrong. Dayu "holds a hammer and puts the people first."

During the flood fighting, when he passed through the border of Tushan, he thought that he was in his thirties, not married, afraid of losing the system and losing his children at dusk.

It means that it seems unreasonable to think that you are too old to get married, for fear that you have no heir.

So he said to himself, "If I get married, I will be rewarded." In other words, if I want to get married, someone must want to marry me. "At this moment, a nine-tailed white fox floated in and brought him good luck. Sure enough, it wasn't long before Tu Shanshi married a beautiful woman to Dayu.

Tushan people once wrote a song, "White fox, Kyubi no Youko fat, married, I am especially long." To show that the combination of two people is arranged by God, and God will bless them and their tribe.

No matter from which aspect, it is a perfect and harmonious marriage that everyone wishes. But when you think about it, there seems to be a lot of confusion.

Dayu was already in his thirties, and he didn't want to get married for such a long time. Why did he remember to get married when he went to Tu Shan?

However, everything that happens by accident has an inevitable cause and effect.

In the process of water control, Dayu traveled all over the world, knowing the topography, customs and products of each place like the back of his hand.

And Dayu is an ambitious and talented person. How could he not want to own the river that he personally managed?

However, at present, the flood has not been cured, and it is impossible for Shundi to cede the throne to himself. Even after the cure, his Xia clan was weak and could not make other tribes submit. What he does in this world will not be stable. So he needs someone to form an alliance.

At that time, Tushan Stone was a tribe with the totem of Dongyi nine-tailed fox, which had strong military strength and was the strongest among the tribes in the Central Plains.

If he can form an alliance with Tushanshi in Dongyi, it will certainly be of great help to his current water control work. In fact, water control is not an easy task, which requires a lot of manpower, material resources, financial resources and appeal, and Tushan Stone has these abilities.

Moreover, Tu Shanshi's military strength can also support him to lead the tribe in the future, so he chose to form an alliance with Tu Shan, and the most reliable way to form an alliance is to get married and start a family.

At that time, the leader of Dongyi was a legendary great man, and he was also called one of the "four ancient saints" with Yao, Shun and Dayu. He must also appreciate this young man who works hard for the people. He also had the foresight to realize that the future throne is likely to belong to Dayu. So he was willing to form an alliance to help Dayu, whether in public or in private, so he found the most beautiful girl in Tushan and married Dayu.

The alliance between Shi Xia and Tu Shanshi really helped Dayu ascend to the throne and firmly grasped it.

The most important thing is the Tushan Congress recorded in history.

According to Zuo Zhuan, "Hui Yu was a vassal of Tushan, holding jade and silk for all countries".

Dayu held a tribal meeting in Tushan, and all the small tribes around him went there with jade gifts to show their respect for Dayu.

This Tushan conference was supported and helped by the Tushan people in Dongyi, and established its dominant position in the world.

"Historical Records" said: "The prosperity of the Xia Dynasty was also based on heaped-up mountains".

In fact, the interests of the alliance were expressed as early as Tu Shan Song Dynasty. The song doesn't say how they feel about each other or their married life. It just describes that their marriage is a matter of course arranged by God, and if it is combined with God's will, it will prosper.

In this grand wedding with the blessing of the whole people, almost everyone has his own ideas and calculations, but Nv Jiao is sincere and has given all his feelings.

After marriage, when Dayu didn't go home for water control, Nv Jiao missed him very much. He waited at the highest place in the heaped-up mountains every day, looking through the autumn water, but he couldn't help sighing and singing "Waiting for someone" in his heart.

This poem Waiting for People is the first recorded love poem in the history of China. "Waiting for someone" is the person who is waiting for me. "Yi" is an interjection in ancient Chinese, which is equivalent to "Ah" now. A word "Yi" vividly expresses the longing, anxiety, hesitation and helplessness.

Although Dayu got married in order to form an alliance and get the position he wanted in the future. Do you really like Nv Jiao like this? I'm afraid not.

At the beginning, the purpose of marrying Nv Jiao was not simple, but to form a political alliance and get the support and help of Tu Shanshi.

Four days after they got married, Dayu left.

"Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals" records: "It is not harmful to the public to marry a woman who painted rocks. From Xin to Jia, I returned to water control on the fourth day. "

After that, there was an allusion to going home and not going in, which was praised by the world as Dayu's dedication to water control and diligence, forgetting personal interests because of public interests.

But no matter how busy a person is, there will always be time to eat and sleep! Even if he wanted to show his diligence to win the hearts of the people, he wouldn't be so unfriendly.

Nv Jiao is his lawfully wedded wife. It is normal for two people to live together. It is doubtful whether his feelings for Nv Jiao are really as deep as the legend.

04

There are two versions of Nv Jiao's ending in history.

One is Dayu's water control plan * * * 13. In those years when he left, Nv Jiao raised his son alone until he was eight or nine years old, and then went home. After returning home, there is no record of two people, either dead or missing. Anyway, there is no trace of their intersection.

Another version is recorded in Huainanzi:

When he dug a well to control water, he said, "If you want to pay, you should sound the drum and leave." Yu jumped off the stone and didn't play the drum. Tu Shanshi went to see the jade turn into a bear and left with shame. When it turned to stone at the foot of Songshan Mountain, Yu said, "It belongs to my son!" " The stone broke through the north and was born. "

Dayu is in charge of water conservancy, and his wife Nv Jiao delivers meals every day. They agreed that as soon as the drums on the mountain rang, they could deliver meals to Dayu. In an accident, Dayu accidentally bumped into a stone, which made it ring and drum. Tu Shanshi came to deliver the meal, only to find that her husband had turned into a black bear and ran to the foot of the mountain exhausted and turned into a stone. Dayu chased the stone statue and shouted, "Give back my son." The stone broke and the son came out.

This legend always feels suspicious. Some people say that Nv Jiao left because she saw that her husband was a bear, perhaps because she was afraid or ashamed. But I don't think these two statements are valid.

From a mythical point of view, if Dayu is really a bear, then Nv Jiao is a nine-tailed fox. Is the nine-tailed fox afraid of bears?

Emotionally speaking, although it is not certain whether Dayu really likes Nv Jiao, it is certain that Nv Jiao really likes Dayu.

There is no evidence that Dayu became a bear, but it has been passed down from generation to generation. However, it is recorded in history that Dayu became dry and dark all day because of fatigue in water control. Dayu was originally a "nine feet two inches long" tall and burly man, so he might be mistaken for a bear.

But there is a difference between bears and people. Even if Dayu becomes ugly as a bear at this time, given Nv Jiao's feelings for Dayu, it is impossible to leave with shame because of this change.

Therefore, Nv Jiao may leave for another reason. There is also a little thing in history, because Dayu was tired of taking people to control water all the year round, so someone developed something that can make people feel refreshed after drinking it. Which is what we are talking about now. After Dayu drank it, he was really relieved, but he also felt that it was intoxicating and easy to make mistakes, so he ordered the prohibition of alcohol.

If he hasn't practiced, how do you know it will go wrong? Besides, no matter how deified Dayu is, he is just an ordinary person. He is very tired all the year round, and his wife Nv Jiao is pregnant, so he may make mistakes at the moment. Maybe when he made a mistake, he happened to be caught by Nv Jiao.

After Nv Jiao hit him, he turned away heartbroken, pregnant and exhausted. At that time, the possibility of premature delivery was also very high. In the process of her fossilization, life is actually passing away. But what Dayu did was disappointing. He only thought about his son at the moment, so he shouted, "Give me my son back!" " "Finally, his son Qi was born and his wife Fossil died.

Hou Yu

Of course, these are just my guesses. No matter how Dayu feels about Nv Jiao, it will not affect our future generations' admiration for him. His outstanding contributions have had a far-reaching impact on the evolution and development of China's history.

Perhaps, like most emperors in history, Dayu loved Jiangshan more, so he chose to disappoint Nv Jiao's feelings.

I wonder if Dayu will regret his choice in the years to come. Do I feel guilty when I think of my wife who died young? When I recall Tu Shan's first meeting with that beautiful girl, does the tenderness in my heart really exist?
