The Psalms of David, the Servant of the Lord , give it to the choir leader. He sang the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord delivered him from all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:
1O Lord my strength! I love you.
2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,
My shield, the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
3I cried to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I was saved from my enemies.
4The ropes of death surround me,
The torrent of destruction overwhelms me.
5 The ropes of Hades surround me,
The snare of death meets me.
6 When trouble came to me, I called to the LORD,
I cried to my God;
He heard my voice from the temple, < /p>
My cry before him came into his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and shook,
and the foundations of the mountains were shaken,
They were shaken because of the anger of the Lord.
8 Smoke rose up from his nostrils,
Fire came out of his mouth,
Even the coals were burning.
9 He bowed the heavens and descended himself;
Dark clouds were under his feet.
10 He flew on cherubim,
soaring on the wings of the wind.
11 He makes darkness his secret place,
he makes the dark vapor, the dense clouds of the sky,
a curtain around him account.
12 Thick clouds, hailstones, and coals of fire,
passed by the brightness before him.
13The LORD thundered in the sky,
The Most High gave his voice,
hailstones and coals of fire.
14 He shoots out his arrows and scatters them;
He sends out lightnings and confuses them.
15 When the LORD rebuked,
when the breath came out of your nostrils,
the bottom of the sea appeared,
and the foundations of the earth were revealed .
16 He stretched out his hand and grabbed me from on high,
and pulled me up out of the great water.
17He saves me from my strong enemies,
from those who hate me, because they are stronger than me.
18 They came against me in the day of my trouble,
but the Lord was my support.
19 He brought me out again into a broad place;
He rescued me, because he took pleasure in me.
20The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the purity of my hands.
21 Because I have kept the way of the LORD,
I have not done any evil and departed from my God.
22 For all his judgments are always before me,
I have not cast away his statutes.
23 I am perfect in his sight,
and I keep myself safe from my iniquity.
24 Therefore the LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the purity of my hands in his sight.
25 To the merciful, you show your love;
To the perfect, you show your perfection;
26 To the pure People, you show your purity;
To the cunning people, you show your tact.
27 You will save the humble;
You will bring down the proud eyes.
28O Lord! You light my lamp;
My God lights up my darkness.
29 Through you I defeat the enemy;
Through my God I jump over the wall.
30 This God is perfect in his ways;
The word of the LORD is purifying;
He is for everyone who takes refuge in him shield.
