Wangxian, where I visited many years ago, gradually becomes blurry in my mind. In recent years, I heard that Wangxian Scenic Area has been greatly improved compared to before, so I have been looking for an opportunity to revisit Wangxian and revive clear memories again.
On May 6th, the weather was clear and the sun was shining. At 7:30 in the morning, the writers of "Yuanqu Renjia WeChat Platform" gathered in the county seat, held colorful flags, and set off with joyful songs and laughter!
After the vehicle drove out of the county town, it drove on a mountain road filled with the fragrance of locust flowers. The winding mountain road seemed to lengthen the journey, and the convoy crawled like beetles through large and small curves. Behind us are ravines dyed white with locust flowers, and the sweet smell of locust flowers penetrates into everyone's heart through the car window.
A few hours later, the gate of Wangxian Scenic Area appeared in front of us. Everyone’s eager hearts had already taken wings and were flying under the blue sky.
Entering the gate, a wide and flat cement road leads visitors to walk under the bright sunshine. Next to me is a pool of green lake water, with a few leisurely boats floating in the water. On the boat there are couples in love, a warm family of three, and friends laughing and playing. In the middle of the lake, there is a beautiful white arch bridge. The bridge railings are covered with colorful flags with various Tibetan characters printed on them. A breeze blew by, and the dancing flags seemed to say hello to the tourists.
This small bridge is used to connect the small island in the middle of the lake. Looking from a distance, the island is covered with green trees and octagonal pavilion with gilded eaves. Each colored stone on the island is painted with six-character mantras, various auspicious patterns and statues of gods. In addition to colorful stones on the grass, there are also round and pointed prayer flags made up of colorful flags. The eye-catching colorful flags have become the most beautiful scenery on the island. Tourists on the island shuttle under the prayer flags and rest in the pavilion. There are also young and old taking photos under the willow trees and beside the railings, as well as men and women attracted by the winding scriptures on the stones. Their stillness and movement , sitting and standing have also become a beautiful scenery in this fairyland and beautiful water.
Looking around the lake are all large and small weeping willows. The willows in this season can be called the most enchanting! Look at them all shyly lowering their heads and swaying their waists affectionately. The slender branches are like the black hair of the girl next door, flowing and stretching. Some anxious willow branches actually swept the ground and swayed in the breeze. Those who love willows lingered under the willow trees, either observing, meditating, leaning against the willows and looking into the distance, or taking photos in groups. They let the willow branches sweep over their foreheads, and they let the willow branches sway charmingly. Being by the lake makes people feel like they are in a dream. This scene, this feeling, is just like what the poem says: "The spring grass has clear ripples and fine lines, a few diagonal branches are green, the ground is dug into the ground to steal a piece of sky, and the weeping willows reflect the blue clouds."
Along the lake Not far away, a colorful mountain gate comes into view. Go through the red corridor and go down the stairs to the mountain path. Under the majestic mountain gate are huge curtains of clear water. They are like several shining silver brocades, neatly pouring down on the dam more than ten meters high. The sound of falling water and splashing water bring a sense of joy to tourists. Cozy and cool.
Walking on the mountain road, we have cliffs on our right and crystal clear mountain streams on our left. The green shade seemed to be holding an umbrella above the head, and a few crisp songs of birds came from the trees. Occasionally, the "squeaking, squeaking" singing of cotton bells reached my ears intermittently. At this moment, except for the sound of birds and water, the world seems particularly pure. Without the noise of the busy city, we seemed to have entered a paradise.
Wangxian Scenic Area not only has the beautiful legends of Emperors Yao and Shun, but also has unique and beautiful mountains and rivers. The river next to it is called the Gold Rush River. After tens of thousands of years of river impact and changes, a five-kilometer-long natural stone gorge has been formed. The stone gorge is the river bed of this river. There are large and small boulders scattered in the river bed. Various strange trees grow in twos and threes in the gaps between the boulders. There are also many stories associated with these trees. For example, there are three trees of different species growing together in the "Three Brothers", and there are also two trees of the same species hugging each other in the "Lovers' Tree" and so on. There are many huge rocks, and there are also more legends and stories. The most impressive ones include the "Immortality Stone", "Three Lives Stone", "Wealth Stone" and so on.
Wangxian Scenic Area is known as "three steps to a pool, five steps to a waterfall". Along the river, there are more than a dozen waterfalls and pools of different sizes, depths and shapes. The mountains here are connected to mountains, water is connected to water, waterfalls are connected to waterfalls, and shallow pools are connected to deep pools. There is a pool in the pool, and there is a waterfall under the waterfall. The most eye-catching ones are the Yutan, Fengtan and Longtan. They are like a dragon swimming freely between the stone gorges, forming deep green pools and waterfalls hanging on the cliffs. Tan, quiet and mysterious. Waterfall, majestic!
Among these pristine and natural landscapes, there is also an ingenious man-made landscape, which is the pedestrian plank road that the scenic spot has spent huge sums of money to build on the cliff in recent years. This plank road is more than 200 meters long and is made of solid cement and steel structure. The plank road hovers over the cliff in a "Z" shape. The steps on the plank road are steep. You have to carefully look at each step before lifting your feet. Standing on the plank road and looking around, you can see a canyon like a cut, a forest of shrubs, and lush pines and cypresses. Looking down, the water in the pool at the bottom of the valley is clear and the waterfall is like a waterfall. The figure of the tourist has shrunk a lot, like moving ants.
When you reach the bottom of the valley, a protruding stone cliff forms a water curtain hole for the waterfall before landing. Pedestrians line up to pass through the water curtain hole one by one to experience the refreshing original ecology.
We stayed by the railing beside the pool, feeling the majestic roar of the waterfall and the moist smell emanating from the pool up close. It felt like we were entering another world. I imagine that I can build a thatched house beside the pond at the bottom of the valley, live in this fairyland for a while, cultivate my moral character, feel the endless aura brought by the mountains and waters, and absorb the essence of the mountains at will. What a wonderful thing it would be! Closing my eyes, my extravagant hopes swam far away in this canyon, lingering among the peaks, floating on the lakes, and rising into the blue sky and white clouds. At this moment, we forget all the troubles and displeasures of the world, as if we are separated from the world at this moment, and we are in a state of ecstasy...
People often say that it is easier to go down the mountain than to go up the mountain. Next, we need to climb up the opposite mountain. Go to the top of the mountain to appreciate the scenery from above. The stone steps up the mountain are very steep. For those of us who have lived in the county for a long time, this is a test of physical fitness and perseverance. Many times we panted heavily and wiped our faces with sweat and wanted to give up, but with the encouragement and inspiration of our companions, we still tried our best to walk and rest to climb to the top of the mountain.
There is a place covered with pines and cypresses on the top of the mountain, which stands out like an eagle's wings. This is the viewing platform. Standing on the railing beside the platform and looking at the road we have passed, we can see mountains stacked on top of each other, and our eyes are full of green. The canyon is quiet and far-reaching, and the plank road is like a long dragon entwining in the mountains.
The shortcut between mountains is the unforgettable suspension bridge. When a soft bridge composed of iron chains and wooden boards appeared in front of them, everyone stepped on it curiously, but as soon as they took steps, it started to shake. And the more timid we were, the more the bridge swayed. We were so frightened that we clung to the big iron chains on both sides, took a breath, and walked forward carefully while holding our breath. While walking, if you secretly crane your neck to take a look at the hundred-foot abyss under the bridge, the faint of heart will naturally break out in cold sweat.
After walking across the suspension bridge and crossing a path, several farmhouses appeared among the trees. There were several stone tables and benches under the trees, and several pergolas were built in front of the houses. This is a place for tourists to rest and eat. The food is pollution-free and green food. After a long journey, tourists can enjoy the delicious farm food here.
Some energetic tourists seemed to still have more to say, so they followed the cement-hardened road behind the mountain to the Houhe Reservoir Scenic Area. Houhe Reservoir was successfully built by the people of our county after decades of unremitting efforts and countless manpower, material and financial resources. It is not only a base for people's daily life in the county, but also a spectacular scenery. A majestic dam stands between the two mountains, and a pool of clear water quietly inhabits the twin peaks. The green mountains and green water look particularly quiet and beautiful under the spring sunshine.
Could it be that Wangxian’s landscape purifies the soul? Could it be that the fairy spirit here enlightens our feelings? After being infected by mountains and rivers, I suddenly felt that all the heaviness in my mind had been emptied! On the way back, the birds were still singing and the flowers were fragrant, and the eyes were full of green.
The sun has set to the west, but our group’s hearts can’t be separated from the mountains and green water!
I heard from the leaders of the scenic spot that a newly developed scenic spot is under construction in Wangxian. The water there is more beautiful and the mountains are more amazing. The end of it leads to the mysterious virgin forest. I believe there will be more unexpected things by then. The charm is waiting for us to appreciate and discover! Wangxian Scenic Area is indeed the best place for sightseeing adventure and returning to nature!
It has been many days since we came back from Wangxian, but our hearts are left among the mountains and rivers of Wangxian and we have not returned...
