Are there any traditional festivals about the sun?

There will be a grandson meeting on March 19, which is almost unknown. March 19th of the lunar calendar is Sun Gong's birthday. Judging from the sacrificial objects of Chaoshan people, it should be the variation of Zhonghe Festival. Zhonghe Festival is a birthday for worshipping the foolish God. According to the Book of Tang Dynasty, Zhonghe Festival is a festival advocated by Tang Dezong himself. Although it is late, it should actually be the evolution result of ancient nature worship. According to the Qing Dynasty Wang Shuicaoqing, "Sun cakes are sold in the city to worship the sun, moon and stars." "There are also people who fast and recite the Sun Sutra" (Spring and Autumn Notes). The Sun Classic, also known as the Sun Star King Classic, says: The sun is bright, the Buddha is in Zhuguang, and the four major towns in China are Gankun. The sun rises and the sky is red, so the night can't stop. If you walk fast, you will grow old; if you walk slowly, you will not stay. There is no day and night without me in the sky, and there is no harvest without me in the ground. Walk in front of every house and let all beings call their nicknames. In a rage with the door god, he died, starved the people and suffered all beings. Every god is respected, and that one respects my sun god. On March 19, the sun was born, and every family recited Buddha and worshipped incense lamps. Someone taught me the Sun Sutra and saved my family in from the mire. My sun has never been told, and the door of hell is closed in front of me. The Buddha said that the Buddha in Zhuguang is well known, and it was passed on to kind men and women. Read it seven times every morning and never go through the gates of hell.

On my deathbed, the pure land was born, and nine yuan and seven ancestors all rose. I am blessed to read my Sun Sutra, and my children and grandchildren are blessed from generation to generation.

At present, there is no such complicated etiquette for Chaoshan people to sacrifice to Sun Gong. However, it should be pointed out that in other areas, sun cakes are used as sacrifices for grandchildren, while Chaoshan people use noodles. The reason is that Chaoshan people confuse "the birthday of the sun star" with "the rise of the dragon". Because in other places, February 2nd is Dragon's Rise Day, and on this day, people have the habit of eating noodles, which is called "Longxu Noodles".

There is a folk saying that "the sun was born on March 19th". On that day, women put sacrifices in the sun on the patio or outside the door and burned incense to worship the sun.

According to legend, in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, wars were frequent, officers and men were tyrannical, natural and man-made disasters occurred, and the people were in dire straits. In order to pray for peace, people set March 19 of the lunar calendar as the ancestor worship day, and families prepared offerings to pray for the blessings of their ancestors in heaven. Unexpectedly, worship at home was not allowed by the authorities, because it happened to be the day when Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself in Jingshan Park in the late Ming Dynasty, so he was accused of mourning the former emperor and was banned. Later, someone came up with the idea of worshipping the heavens and threatened to be a "Sun Gong student" to escape guilt. After being passed down from generation to generation, the people really regard this day as the birthday of "Sun Gong".

If you want to play now, Shandong Rizhao should have fun. It is called Sun City, and there is also a Sun Festival in Peru, which is the most famous in the world at present, on June 24th every year.
