Introduction of China Southern Airlines Flight 242 Accident

On April 4th, 1977, China Southern Airlines Flight 242 was caught in heavy rain and hail on the way from Huntsville to Atlanta, causing the plane to crash near New Hope when forced to land. It killed 63 people on board, affecting 9 people on the ground (including a family of 7 on board), 20 passengers survived and 2 flight attendants.
