The moon turned into a scarlet pavilion, hanging low on the carved window, shining on the sleepy self. The moon should not have any resentment against people. Why is it round when people are gone? People are sad and happy, and they are separated and reunited. The moon will darken or shine, and it will become round or round. Nothing is perfect, even in the past. I hope people will live for a long time and have a good scenery thousands of miles away.

This poem is a masterpiece in the history of poetry and is regarded as the swan song of Mid-Autumn Festival. It is also a masterpiece in the history of music, which was widely sung in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. According to Cai Tai's "Talk about Tiewei Mountain" at the end of the Northern Song Dynasty, on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, Su Shi took his guests to visit Jinshan, and asked Mao Yuan, the "music superstar" at that time, to sing this song. Su Shi reads widely, and some sentences in his poems are slightly modified from ancient works, such as his own. For example, "When is the bright moon, ask for wine from the blue sky", which is based on Li Bai's "Ask for wine from the bright moon": "When is the bright moon in the blue sky? I'm going to stop for a drink today and ask. " "I don't know what year it is in the Palace Que in the sky", using a poem from the note novel "Qin Zhou Jixing" in the Tang Dynasty: "The fragrant wind attracts Luotian, and the clouds on the moon worship the gods. * * * The Taoist world is sad, and I don't know what year it will be. " "A thousand miles away is a beautiful place", which is a classic in Xie Zhuang's Yuefu in the Southern Dynasties: "A thousand miles away, the moon is in the sky." This technique was inherited and carried forward by Xin Qiji and became a major feature of Jiaxuan's ci.
Mr. Wu said that the characteristics of Dongpo's ci poetry are "poetry into ci poetry" and "logic into ci poetry", which is embodied in this poem "Shuidiao Song Tou", "rich in human feelings and philosophy of life" and "harmonious in emotion".
