The most abundant site in Hancheng is Sichuan.

The earliest, longest-lasting and richest Hanjincheng cultural site in eastern Sichuan is the Chengba site in Quxian County, Sichuan Province.

The site is located on the left bank of Qujiang River in Quxian County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, with a total area of 5.6 million square meters. It is surrounded by water on three sides and backed by mountains.

Chen Weidong, research librarian of Sichuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and leader of the archaeological team of Chengba Site, said that after Qin unified the six countries, a "ruin channel" was set up here to manage the local ethnic group "Yi people". In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, people who helped Emperor Gaozu Liu Bang to pacify the Three Qin Dynasties made meritorious deeds, were exempted from taxes, and changed the party area into a "Dao" and a "county".

In the middle and late Eastern Han Dynasty, Feng Yi, a general riding in Dangqu County, built the city, also known as "riding the city". During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, with the establishment of the "Chenghan" regime by Li Xiong and Li Shou, especially after Li Shou's rebellion, the land was occupied by Liao, the counties were abandoned, and the light of "Dangqu City" gradually faded.

It is understood that the archaeological work of Chengba site began in the 1980s, when local villagers discovered a large number of bronzes while digging and burning bricks. Since 20 14, Sichuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology has carried out archaeological excavations on Chengba Site in Quxian County, Sichuan Province in conjunction with relevant units.

This year is the tenth year that the archaeological team has settled in Chengba site. Tombs, smelting relics, city walls, granaries, roads, etc. Bronzes with typical Ba culture style and a large number of important bamboo slips have been unearthed. It is particularly noteworthy that a large number of "Dangqu" tiles have been unearthed in the city site area, which proves that this place is indeed the "Dangqu City" recorded in historical materials.
