Guia Mountain is the highest hill on the Macau Peninsula. During the Qing Dynasty, pine trees were widely planted on the mountain. A few years later, the mountain was covered with pine forests. From then on, Guia Mountain was called Wansong Ridge, or Songshan for short. . There is a lighthouse on Songshan Mountain. It was built in the 1860s. The tower is 13 meters high. It is the first lighthouse in the history of the Far East.
