In the seventh year of Yuan You (1092), Shi was changed from Yingzhou to Yangzhou in February, and was recalled to North Korea in August. In September of the following year, the Queen Mother Gao died, and the situation changed greatly. Su Shi was ordered to know Dingzhou (now Dingxian County, Hebei Province). Shao Shengyuan (1094) was banished to Huizhou (now Guangdong) on the charge of stabbing the first dynasty (Zongshen dynasty). Su Shi was offended by his words, but he was not silent because of it. In the second year of exile in Huizhou, he wrote a famous poem "Litchi Pond" which has been passed down through the ages. The first sentence 16 reveals the ugly state of bureaucrats competing for litchi and longan in Han and Tang dynasties, and hopes that God will not produce those "stunners" that have become the scourge of ordinary people. The last eight sentences expose the bureaucrats' "fighting for new things and buying pets" by name, and also imply irony to the incumbent philosophers. The whole poem laments the past and the present, expresses deep sympathy for people's sufferings, and expresses deep indignation at rulers who ignore people's lives. The title of the poem is "Litchi Tan", but when he talks about tea from litchi and peony, we can see that he really has mixed feelings, and his chest is full of resentment, which is out of control.
