What should children do if they stutter?

Generally speaking, children are learning to speak when they are 2/5 years old, and stuttering is normal. Parents don't need to deliberately correct it. Usually, they can help their children in the following ways.

Correct demonstration method

Say a word calmly and let the children learn it again. If the child doesn't speak well at first, don't be impatient, but be patient and guide. Note: Speak softly, enunciate clearly, continuously and evenly, and don't be intermittent.

Sing loudly and read aloud

Let children listen to children's songs with beautiful voice, smooth expression and lively content. Such as children's stories and children's poems. After listening skillfully, let the children read together. You can consciously sing with your children, recite texts and say nursery rhymes, so that your children can master the rhythm of the language. Further guide him to speak according to the rhythm of reading the text, and make a transition bit by bit.

Slow dialogue method

Usually, when the child talks to you, let him speak slowly, especially the first sentence, even the first word, more and more slowly. You should listen patiently, don't be busy interrupting, and don't use interruption to replace what the child has to say. When the child has finished speaking, you should react for a second or two, answer the child slowly, and try to use what the child just used.
