Our Generation, filmed by Xiao Quan for more than ten years, is an image file of famous cultural and artistic figures born in the 1950s and 1960s in China. Over the years, he visited artists and writers scattered all over China, and compiled a long list selected by his own standards in his notebook. With the progress of time and work, this list is constantly changing and enriching. Xiao Quan, with care for the fate of his contemporaries, sympathy and love for himself, walked through the life of this generation gently like a ray of warm sunshine, and projected a warm statue for each interviewee with his camera in his hand. His precise grasp of characters' personalities and extensive and close contact with this generation also make his photo collection transcend the level of personal behavior and become a video project with social significance. Xiao Quan, with his warmth and persistence, witnessed the survival of this generation, reflecting their bitterness and joy, hesitation and persistence, and most importantly, their eternal concern for life.
