My poems can be surpassed, but they will never be imitated. Even if someone wants to imitate, they can only get the shape, not the meaning. Why am I so confident? There is a simple reason. I didn't write it well. It's just that I wrote what others haven't written, and others won't write it. So I have formed my own unique style, half of which is born and half of which is consciously pursued.
In terms of poetry, I integrate the ancient and the modern, supplement the present with the ancient, and learn from others. I pay attention to the principle of "telling the present with ancient poems and releasing the present with ancient poems", so my poems look neither so obscure as the ancients nor so popular and straightforward as modern people. For example, I don't usually use uncommon words, but I often use modern words. Some pedantic old-timers often criticize my poems without thinking when they see modern terms such as motorcycle, pen and RMB in my poems (as do articles). For such people, the explanation is also futile, so I mostly ignore it. If he wants to know the reason, he'd better look at my poetics. If he thinks my poetics is worthless, he'd better look at my poetics.
If there should be no modern vocabulary in writing ancient poems, it is almost unnecessary to write poems, because we live in modern times, and modern people have modern life concepts, modern thinking and thoughts, and it is impossible to look at today's things with the eyes of the ancients. In fact, the poems of different dynasties in ancient times are also different. Wei-Jin poetry is different from Tang poetry, and Tang poetry is also different from Song poetry. Every dynasty has produced new words, and they also put new words into poetry compared with the previous generation, just as I now write modern words into ancient poems. When I say this, some people will refute me and say, "If you want to write modern words in your poems, you'd better write modern poems, otherwise people will feel uncomfortable." . What I want to say is that modern poetry is not as powerful as ancient poetry. Since the New Culture Movement, many people have written modern poems, and the output is extremely rich, but few people really have quality. Many people who write modern poetry actually prefer ancient poetry to modern poetry. Ancient poems are easy to remember and impressive. People can remember many ancient poems, but how many modern poems can people really remember? This is also the reason why I choose ancient poetry instead of modern poetry. At the same time, writing modern words into ancient poems is also a manifestation of innovation, which can make the written poems more novel.
Some people say that ancient poems were written by the ancients, and modern people can't surpass them no matter how well they write. This is true, but what I want is not to surpass the ancients. All I want is my own poem. There is no need to compare with anyone, this is obviously incomparable. As long as we can "write what our predecessors have never written and what others can't write", then our poems will be different and may be unique, which is also the embodiment of poetry novelty.
It is not easy to write what others can't write, but it is not difficult. What do we do? The easiest way is to explore our own experiences and write more about "personal life", because everyone's experiences are different, their thinking and ideas are slightly different, and their emotions are also very different. In this way, the poem you write is your own, and others can't imitate it if they want to, which becomes the so-called "writing what no one has written, writing what others can't write."
Of course, we can also sublimate it, that is, write from a unique perspective, so that even if you write from a unique perspective, you can write poems with novel ideas. Once you have formed your own style, you can write easily. There will be no traces of affectation, and your poems are unique. Why not?
