Take a nap by the fire, take down this book,
Reading slowly, dreaming of the gentle eyes.
Your eyes were once, and their shadows were deep;
How many people love your happy and elegant moments,
Loving your beauty with true or false love,
But there is one person who loves your pilgrim soul,
Love the sadness on your aging face;
Bend down by the glowing fireplace,
Whispering a little sadly, how love dies.
Pacing on the mountains overhead
Hide his face among the stars. ?
when you are old
When you are old, gray-haired and sleepy,
Take a nap by the fire, please write down this poem.
Read slowly and recall the tenderness of your eyes in the past.
Recall the heavy shadows of their past;
How many people love you when you are young and happy,
Worship your beauty, hypocrisy or sincerity,
Only one person loves your pilgrim soul,
Love the painful wrinkles on your aging face;
I hung my head, by the red fire,
Whispering sadly about the passing of love,
On the mountain overhead, it walked slowly.
A face is hidden among a group of stars.
Zhi (1865- 1939) is an Irish poet and playwright. Born into a painter's family in Dublin, he loved the art of poetry and painting since childhood and was very interested in the secret methods of the countryside. 1884 studied at Dublin Art School, and soon gave up canvas and oil painting against his father's wishes and devoted himself to poetry creation. 1888 met Bernard Shaw, Wilde and others in London. From 65438 to 0889, Ye Zhi and the actresses Maute and Goni were the backbone of the Irish national autonomy movement, which had a great influence on Ye Zhi's thoughts and creation all his life. 1896, Ye Zhi met Mrs Gregory, a playwright of noble birth, and Ye Zhi benefited from her support in his life. Her Cole Manor is regarded as a lofty artistic paradise by Ye Zhi. Although his works in this period did not get rid of the influence of romanticism and aestheticism in the late19th century, they were simple and full of vitality. His famous poems include Insfrei Island (1892) and When You Are Old (1896). 1899, Ye Zhi, Mrs Gregory, john singh and others began to establish the Irish National Theatre, and Abbey Cinema was formally established in 1904. During this period, he created some plays reflecting Irish history and peasant life. The main poetic dramas include Catherine in the Huli Trace (1902), Dred (1907), The Wind in the Reed (1899) and Seven Woods (1899). The creative activities of Ye Zhi and his friends are called "Irish Renaissance" in history.
19 17, Ye Zhi got married and settled in Bailey village near Gregory manor. Since then, due to the turbulent situation and frequent accidents, Ye Zhi has been full of vitality in the trauma, and his poems have also changed from illusory obscurity in the early days to solid clarity. Important poetry collections include Wild Swan in Cole Manor (19 19) and Kyle Boroz and the Dancer (1920), among which the famous poems are The Second Coming of Christ, Praying for My Daughter and19/.
After Irish independence, Ye Zhi became a senator. 1923, Ye Zhi won the Nobel Prize in Literature, "because his poems are always full of inspiration and express the spirit of the whole nation through a highly artistic form".
1928, he published a collection of poems "Castle", which is the pinnacle of his mature creation, including the famous poems "Sailing to Byzantium", "Rita and Swan", "Among Schoolchildren" and "Castle". In his later years, Ye Zhi suffered from various diseases, but he remained enthusiastic and extremely active in his creation.
