Farewell is a five-character ancient poem written by the Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei. This is the first poem to send a friend into seclusion. It tells the reason of seclusion with friends by asking and answering questions, and also shows the poet's complicated thoughts and feelings. The poet's concern and love for his friends not only comforted his friends, but also expressed envy for their retirement, which showed that the poet was not satisfied with his reality. The language of the whole poem seems unremarkable, but the last two sentences add poetry, which can be described as shallow words and deep feelings, containing endless meanings.
