The flower language and legend of poppies

Legend

According to legend, at the end of the Qin Dynasty, Chu and Han fought. Xiang Yu, the overlord of Western Chu, was defeated and was surrounded by the Han army in Gaixia. Xiang Yu knew that it was difficult to break out of the siege, so he gave his beloved horse to Yu Ji, hoping that Yu Ji could survive. However, after Yu Ji finished singing "He Gaixia Ge" with tears in her eyes, she suddenly pulled out the sword from Xiang Yu's waist and Died by suicide.

Later, a kind of grass grew on Yu Ji's tomb. It had soft stems and long leaves, and it moved automatically in the absence of wind. It looked like a beauty dancing, charming and cute.

According to folklore, this flower was transformed by the poppy poppy, so the grass was called "poppy grass" and its flower was called "poppy poppy". The bright red color on poppy flowers is said to be dyed by poppy blood.

Poppy blossoms bloom in late spring and early summer. It is as if Yu Ji has never left, and the loyalty and waiting for the overlord still exist in Yu Ji's heart.
