■ Chen Zheng

I like sunflowers since I was a child. Seeing the flowers bloom will bring back fond memories of childhood. At that time, I lived in a desert oasis in the northwest border of the motherland and enjoyed the infinite scenery of the Gobi in the western regions. On the vast Gobi desert, there are clusters of red willows proudly growing, clusters of camel thorns dotted with the vast Gobi desert, clusters of Achnatherum splendens rooted in dry and cracked land, and sunflowers blooming in saline-alkali land ... that desolate beauty and severe beauty shocked me.

This is a plant with strong vitality. She grew up in the vast Gobi desert, and can be seen everywhere in front of the door, in the yard and in the fields. Her bright colors add vitality to the Gobi Desert. Simple, naive, stepping on a piece of loess, the shoulders will hold up the sunshine-like flowers, which will touch the whole summer. Sunflowers, as ordinary as grass, are dreaming their own ordinary dreams in vilen's hometown. Colorful flowers make the rainbow blush. Sunflowers silently praise the poor life with their own flowers.

After working, I came to a coastal city. Outside the office window, I raised a pot of sunflowers. Colleagues don't understand: "Such a good flowerpot doesn't grow expensive flowers?" I smiled: "I appreciate this kind of flower".

Kind and gentle, these ordinary flowers in my hometown, these outstanding devotees, let the golden desert penetrate the four seasons, bright sunflowers poke my quiet calendar with a smile, and let me realize that its small flowers contain a profound artistic conception and an unspeakable love.

Its petals are red, yellow, purple and white, but the most common ones are red and yellow. Every sunny morning, when the flaky buds of the sun flower slowly bloom against the morning sun, the red and yellow petals will gradually increase from shallow to deep and from shallow to deep with the sunshine. Red petals change from pink to crimson and purple; The yellow petals changed from milky yellow to orange and orange. Finally, you will be surprised to find that the original monotonous red and yellow have magically evolved into colorful colors with different shades. Especially the crimson petals, like clusters of burning flames. Sunflowers at this moment are not precious or outstanding, but they are absolutely no less dazzling and shining than roses, Chinese rose and Dali chrysanthemum.

The unique shape of sunflower is that it is one of the few herb flowers with vines and no branches in nature. On the tangled brownish-red fleshy vine, there are five or more corollas with overlapping petals, and the corolla is dotted with small yellow stamens with inconspicuous needles. Its colorful delicate flowers cover the soil in the flowerpot layer by layer, which is particularly dazzling against the thick oval green leaves!

What surprises me most is the extremely tenacious vitality of sunflower, which is called "withered and immortal". Its colored seeds, smaller than sesame seeds, can germinate, emerge and bloom in any soil, which is suitable for both ground planting and potted plants. Generally, there is no need to water, let alone fertilize. As long as there is enough sunshine and dry environment, it can thrive. Day after day, countless flaky buds on the vine bloom in turn at the sight of the sun. The flowering period spans spring, summer and autumn and is always unbeaten. It is said that "flowers don't bloom for a hundred days", but ordinary sun flowers can create miracles that still bloom after a hundred days.

I appreciate the color change of sunflower, its unusual shape and tenacious nature; I admire the singularity of sun flowers in the ordinary; I appreciate and admire the greatness of ordinary people in nature and human society!
