Lao She and Tao Yuanming were not from the same era.
Tao Yuanming (365-427), courtesy name Yuanliang, was a writer and politician from the late Eastern Jin Dynasty to the early Southern Song Dynasty. He was known as the "Pastoral Poet". He lived in the late Eastern Jin Dynasty and the early Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, and was one of the important representatives in the history of ancient Chinese literature. His works mainly focus on pastoral life, reflecting his love and pursuit of nature and humanity.
Lao She (1899-1966), whose original name was Shu Qingchun and later changed his name to Shu Qingqi and whose courtesy name was Lifu, was a modern Chinese writer, playwright and cultural celebrity.
