After the An Shi Rebellion, he began to wander. In 770 AD (the fifth year of Dali), Du Fu drifted to the south of the Yangtze River and met Li Guinian, a court singer who was once a smash hit. He recalled his frequent meeting with Cui Jiufu in Wang Qi and was deeply moved. He wrote a famous poem that has been told through the ages, and is known as Du Fu's masterpiece "Meeting Li Guinian and Going Down the River".
In Du Fu's memory, Li Guinian is closely connected with his romantic youth. Decades later, Du Fu and Li Guinian reunited in Jiangnan. At this time, the Tang Dynasty, which experienced the Anshi Rebellion, has turned from prosperity to decline, and the evening scenery of the two of them is also very bleak. This situation can easily lead to the infinite sadness that Du Fu has accumulated for a long time.
This song "Welcome Li Guinian Downstream" is full of emotion, rich in connotation, light in weight and high in artistic achievement. Meet Li Guinian at the lower reaches of the river.
Tang Dynasty: Du Fu
In the Qi family, I often see your performances; Before urging the wine hall, I praised your art many times.
Never thought, in this Jiangnan scenic area; It is the season of falling flowers, and I can meet you, an old acquaintance.
Note: I often see your performances in the Qi Palace. In front of Cui, I have also appreciated your art many times. Now is the time when the scenery in Jiangnan is beautiful, and I met you again in this late spring.
Four poems, connected with the vicissitudes of the times in the past 40 years, have changed greatly in life. Short genre writes a lot of content, but when expressing such rich content, it can achieve effortless and seamless artistic realm. This seven-character quatrain is well-known and is the swan song of Du Fu's later creative career. It has received a lot of praise in past dynasties. For example, Shao commented in the Qing Dynasty: "The beauty of the child is seven unique, which is the pressure roll."
