Xue Tao, a poetess in the Tang Dynasty, was born in Chang 'an (now Xi 'an, Shaanxi), where Xue Tao's father Xue Yun was an official. After the middle Tang Dynasty, the buffer region became independent, and the court sent his father to guard Sichuan. At that time, Xue Tao was only five years old.
Xue Tao is gifted. Under the careful guidance of his father, he showed extraordinary talent from an early age. One day, Xue Yun was sitting idly in the court, and suddenly he sang to the buttonwood tree by the well: "The court is divided into an ancient tree, and it hangs into the clouds." Xue Tao, 8, replied, "The branches welcome birds from the north and the south, and the leaves supply air." When we think about this problem, we can describe it in one word.
When Xue Tao was 6 years old, his father was killed in a riot. After that, Xue Tao and his mother lived alone and struggled. My mother was born in a scholarly family and suffered this great disaster. She was always sad, and a few years later she became seriously ill. Xue Tao's mother died when she was less than 65,438+00 years old. At his mother's funeral, his father's friend Li Tuguan came to offer condolences. Seeing that Xue Tao was clever, he took Xue Tao home to raise him.
A few years later, Xue Tao became more and more handsome, and his poems and songs made great progress. With the help of Li Tuguan, Xue Tao became a musician in the music camp of drug rehabilitation center in Xichuan. Pour wine, write poems, play the piano and sing in the laughter to entertain guests, and become a "poetry geisha", that is, busk and not sell yourself.
When Xue Tao 16 years old, Wei Gao was appointed as our ambassador to Xichuan. Because he was good at writing poems, Xue Tao was called to stay and became a formal poet, serving as an official, poetry, calligraphy and painting. Later, Xue Tao was called "female teacher".

Xue Tao has a like-minded friend Pei in Yuli College, and a good colleague who works with him is Yanhe. She felt the tension and curiosity of our first writing in Wei Zhai, and also felt the excitement of writing for our time and being appreciated for the first time. With his talent and wisdom, Xue Tao was favored by Wei Gaoshi, and he was free to go in and out of Wei's house, drinking and writing poems. Xue Tao had a good time.
One day at the banquet, Wei Gao heard that Xue Tao's poems were outstanding and he came from a good family. After becoming an official, he called her and asked her to improvise poetry. Xue Tao improvised a poem "Visit Wushan Temple":
Wei Gao read it and was amazed. He gave it to all the guests at the dinner party, and everyone was surprised. Xue Tao's poem is about crossing Wushan Goddess Peak and visiting Wushan Temple.
"The mountain failed to forget Song Yu, and the sound of water especially cried. Xue Tao's poems are full of homesickness, longing for the past and regret for the vicissitudes of the world.
In particular, the last sentence, "Spring is gone and spring is empty, but fighting thrush grows up", even more vaguely accused the predecessors of being addicted to women. This idea comes from the hands of women, which is really not easy!
In Fu Wei, Xue Tao had contacts with many famous poets. Liu Yuxi, who teaches for the Prince, also visited Fu Wei. At the invitation-only banquet, Xue Tao wrote "Seeing Friends Off":
There is a saying in The Book of Songs Qin Feng Jia Sword: "The sword is gray and the Millennium is frost. The so-called Iraqis are on the water side. " This refers to missing an old friend at the water's edge, and later "sword armor" refers to missing friends from other places.
"Who said a thousand miles from today, just one dream?" Starting from today, my friends are thousands of miles away from me, and my dream can cross obstacles and follow my friends to distant barriers. This poem reveals the feelings of reluctant friends.
Liu Yuxi replied to this poem:
The two men recited poems across the table, just like lovers singing across the river. They were affectionate and met each other after a brief encounter.

Xue Tao pursues happiness and love, but love refuses to take care of her. It was not until March (809) that Xu Niang, aged 465,438+0, met the poet Yuan Zhen in Zizhou. Xue Tao is older than Yuan Zhen 1 1 years old, but he conquered Beijing officials with his mature beauty and talent.
At this time, Yuan Zhen's new subject was not long, and he was politically upright and upright. Yuan Zhen came to investigate a case-solving. He was an imperial envoy, and he didn't want money, but he couldn't resist the talented people in Shu.
Before they met, Yuan Zhen, a charming and world-famous genius, didn't pay special attention to Xue Tao. As everyone knows, although Xue Tao was over forty at this time, his charm remained unchanged, he was calm and elegant, his talent was outstanding, and he was extraordinary and refined, which greatly impressed and admired Yuan Zhen.
Xue Tao seems to have discovered the spring of love from this young and charming poet. When they met, Xue Tao wrote Ode to Four Friends, praising inkstone, pen, ink and paper:
Yuan Zhen was shocked. The two admired each other and fell into a romantic and gentle village.
Yuan Zhen sent poems to Xue Tao with loose paper, and Xue Tao sent them on ten-color stationery. Xue Tao devoted his sincere feelings to Yuan Zhen, so that several years later, the poem "Posting Old Poems and Wei Yuanzhi" is still deeply immersed in it. This feeling of never responding is really hard to read:
However, the good times did not last long. A year later, Yuan Zhen returned to Beijing and left Sichuan. When they parted in tears, Yuan Zhen promised Xue Tao that he would be appointed as the secretariat of Yuezhou immediately after he reported back to me. Then he will send someone to Sichuan to see Xue Tao and let her wait for good news.
After Yuan Zhen left, spoony Xue Tao waited for his news in Chengdu. However, after Yuan Zhen arrived in Yuezhou, he forgot his promise and the romantic poet moved on.
Xue Tao also looked at the situation and confirmed that Yuan Zhen and she had no possibility of * * * gathering their heads together, so there was no more entanglement. Although they had an exchange of poems later, it was better than nothing for Xue Tao.
Yuan Zhen and Xue Tao never had a chance to meet again. Xue Tao can only express her sadness in her poems. She once wrote poems to clearly express her attachment to Yuan Zhen:
Xue Tao's poem "Two Birds on the Pond" is full of deep feelings, and the confession of "flying back in the morning and evening, between the concentric lotus leaves" has a good intention to grow old together with Yuan Zhen.
Before Yuan Zhen returned to Beijing, Xue Tao presented the poem Peony:
Last spring, the peony flowers withered, and my tears wetted the crimson notes, and I was reluctant to part with the peony.
I often worry that such a parting will be like a dream tryst between King Xiang of Chu and the Goddess of Wushan. Why did you meet like Wu Lingren?
Peony flowers exude fragrance and convey her affection. Although they didn't say a word, they were heart to heart with each other.
I just want to put a bed next to the flower bar, so that I can fall in love with peony in the dead of night.
The poet wrote about the withering of peony flowers in late spring, lamenting that youth is fleeting, feeling lonely and helpless, and voluntarily put a bed next to the flower fence, pouring out their hearts to each other and loving each other.
At this time, Xue Tao was 46 years old, and her youth had reached dusk. The relationship between Yuan Zhen and Xue Tao finally broke up after he went to Yangzhou.
