Gambling Saint is a film released by 1990, and directed by Yuan Kui and Liu Zhenwei. The main actors are Stephen Chow, Ng Man Tat and Wu Junru.
The film tells the story of Zuo Yin, a young man from the Mainland, who came to Hong Kong to take refuge in his uncle because of his special ability. After Zuo took refuge in his uncle, he found that he had special functions. Two uncles began to wander the rivers and lakes. They ran into each other in Hong Kong and were inadvertently involved in the hegemony of the underworld. Finally, he successfully bribed Zuo and defeated him at a critical moment.
Its greatest significance lies not in following the trend at the earliest time, but more in Liu Zhenwei's brilliant idea of combining gambling with special functions and Stephen Chow's unique performance style. Just like Jackie Chan turned against Bruce Lee's tough guy image, Stephen Chow's naughty image replaced Chow Yun Fat's tall and powerful image, and his acting skills were recognized.
