Cang Shi Lang Hua is the most important theoretical work of poetry in Song Dynasty, with a relatively complete system and program. It is a connecting link between the preceding and the following, which is not only a theoretical summary of the songs in Song Dynasty, but also enlightens the debate and development of later poetry. In particular, its "witty remarks", "unique taste" and "unique materials" all show the author's outstanding theoretical achievements and artistic originality, which is of inestimable value.

Yan Yu was dissatisfied with the Song Dynasty and advocated the prosperous Tang Dynasty as the law. He put forward a new theory of poetry creation in Cang Shi Lang Hua. After that, the Yuan and Ming poetry circles returned to Tang Yinzhe, which was mostly influenced by Yan Yu's theory. Cang Hua pays attention to the artistry of poetry creation, but rarely involves ideological topics, which is valuable and far-sighted in the feudal social atmosphere with the purpose of "writing carries Tao", and is of inestimable value for establishing the theoretical and practical significance of poetry creation.
