The hero of drinking horses in Great Wall Cave is Yang Di Yang Guang, Emperor of Sui Dynasty.

Drinking Horses in the Great Wall Cave is a five-character ancient poem written by Yang Di Yang Guang. This poem was recorded in Yuefu Poetry Collection and Ji Ancient Poems. Yang Di Yang Guangxi, Emperor Yangdi of Sui Dynasty, traveled to Zhangye via Xining border ferry and wrote "Drinking horses in Great Wall Cave". The source of ancient poetry commented: "Yang-ti's poems are elegant and correct, which is better than Chen Houzhu's."

This poem eulogizes the historical achievements of building the Great Wall. The Great Wall is the crystallization of the wisdom of our ancestors and the guarantee of permanent peace, enabling millions of people to live in peace. Thousands of troops attacked the Great Wall and won the war against aggression. Khan came to Korea, the country came back from afar, the army triumphed and drank to celebrate success. Finally, he was able to comfort the spirits of his ancestors in front of the ancestral hall.

This poem has become a masterpiece through the ages, and later generations commented: "The copper head is full of gas and quite Wei Wu style." This also established the important position of Yang Di's poetry in the history of China literature and poetry.

Yang Di Yang Guang (569-6 14. 08, 1 1), whose real name is Angelababy, was born in Huayin (now Huayin, Shaanxi), the second son of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty and the literary queen Du Gu Jia Luo, and the second emperor of Sui Dynasty.

Creation background

Some people think that this poem was written in 609 AD (the fifth year of Daye), when Emperor Yang visited Zhangye, Guangxi. Sui unified the chaotic political situation since Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. In order to publicize the national prestige of the Great Sui Dynasty in the Western Regions, Emperor Yang went to the Western Seas.

In 609 AD, Emperor Yang Di led an army from Daxing City in Kyoto (now Xi 'an) to Longxi, Gansu, west of Qilian Mountain in Qinghai, and north of Dadou Bagu (now Biandu) to Zhangye County in Hexi Corridor.

Dadou Valley is more than 3,000 meters above sea level, and the annual temperature is below zero, so the natural environment is very bad. Emperor Yang Di traveled in June, when he crossed the Dadou Valley, and he was still hit by a snowstorm. Most of the soldiers froze to death, most of the accompanying officials were separated, and his own sister also froze to death. Emperor Yang Di was very frightened and suffered a lot during his journey.
