In the early days of reform and opening up, the special economic zones established in China were Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Xiamen and Hainan. 1in April, 979, Deng Xiaoping first proposed the establishment of an "export special zone". Later, in March of 1980, the "Export Special Zone" was renamed as "Special Economic Zone" and was implemented in Shenzhen. In essence, special economic zones are also one of the main forms of free port areas in the world. China Special Economic Zone was born in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and grew up in the 1990s. The establishment of special economic zones marks the further development of China's reform and opening up. Chinese mainland has seven special economic zones.
