Du Fu's masterpiece Epic

From Beijing to Fengxian is one of the representative works of Du Fu, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty. This poem was written by Du Fu when he visited his wife and children from Chang 'an to Fengxian (now Pucheng, Shaanxi) shortly after he was led by the right guard to join the army. The poet's thoughts and feelings of worrying about the country and the people, being loyal to the monarch, missing his family and not meeting his talents are intertwined, which constitutes this vast and gloomy masterpiece. This poem profoundly reflects the sharp social contradictions at that time, and the famous sentence "The wine and meat in Zhumen stink, and the road has frozen bones" vividly reveals the social reality of the disparity between the rich and the poor. Poetry reflects the sufferings of the people and exposes the debauchery and corruption of the ruling group. It is the first full-length work in Du Fu's epic.

The Northern Expedition is a long narrative poem written by Du Fu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. This poem was written in the second year of An Shi Rebellion, that is, in August of the second year of Zhide (757), on the way from Fengxiang to Zhangzhou, describing what he saw and felt after returning home. Gui Fang, then prime minister, was falsely accused of taking bribes by Helan Jin Ming and others. Du Fu, as a left-leaning gleaning, wrote a letter to defend Gui Fang's crimes, which angered Tang Suzong. Later, Sansi pleaded guilty and was rescued and released by Zhang Gao. In August, Su Zong ordered him to leave Fengxiang to visit relatives, which was actually sent back to China. The whole poem takes the personal experience on the way home and after home as the theme, describes the scenes of people's livelihood and national chaos during the An Shi Rebellion, and states his views on current affairs. The poet adopts the method of giving priority to fu and combining metaphor with xing, which shows the grand historical content and shows the poet's high talent and mastery in poetry art.
