White night, red moon
Floating in the blue sky.
Unreal and beautiful, she is wandering,
Reflected on the Neva River.
I foresee, I dream.
The desire to hide will come true.
Is luck hidden in it-
Red moon, quiet noise? ……

Brock (Russia)
In one of his early papers, Color and Language, Brock wrote: "For artists, gentle and bright colors cherish the sensibility of childhood more;" However, mature writers are greedy to keep emotional fragments in their hearts. " He was greatly dissatisfied with the phenomenon that writers only used monotonous, colorless and listless words at that time, and thought their souls were "degenerate"; At the same time, he has great respect for painters and thinks that "they can convey old grievances buried in the depths of the writer's soul with popular and childlike language, which is brand-new and distinctive." "In Brock's view, due to the painter's deliberate pursuit of color, he can be intoxicated and sublimated, and then forget the worldly suffering and troubles. Brock's emphasis on color in his creation can be seen here.
When writing poems, Brock always carefully chooses some color words that can best express his emotional experience. Therefore, when reading Brock's works, readers can often experience the vague aesthetic feeling that is difficult to describe and capture when appreciating Impressionist paintings. The poem "White Night Red Moon" is a prominent example. White is one of the poets' favorite colors. In addition to the symbolic meaning of "purity" and "tranquility" in the traditional sense, it also represents the infinite vitality in a mysterious blank in the poet's personal symbolic system. Russia's unique geographical location allows poets to see a rare natural phenomenon-"white night", which provides the background for the emergence of "red moon". Red is also a color used more in Brock's creation, probably because it is the same color as blood. It often reminds people of bloodshed, riots and wars. In Brock's works, red often implies "anxiety" and "fear". Among many colors, blue seems to be the most favored by Brock. Poets often give blue to beautiful things, such as peace, happiness, goodness and hope. From the perspective of visual psychology, blue can often give people a deep and broad feeling, and mysterious reverie can get a broad free space here. Brock's special feelings for "blue", especially for "blue sky", are in good agreement with his eager yearning for the other side of the ideal. Bo Han, a genius of French symbolism poetry, also endowed vowels with blue to express the ultimate "beauty" in his poem Vowel. This proves that there is a mysterious mechanism of seeking common ground in human sensitivity to color.
In the Red Moon, the first section of White Night, the strange image combination of the red moon in the blue sky of White Night hints at the poet's confusion and anxiety. The second section explains the above phenomenon: the anxiety felt by the poet may just mean that "the desire for secret storage has come true." As for the abrupt combination of "quiet noise", we can find some origins in Pumontov's famous poem "Sail"-"It seems that only in a storm can there be peace." Perhaps Brock has the same experience as his predecessors at the moment, praying for peace in the noise.
