We walked all the way in the light rain in autumn. Ask while walking. According to the guide, the car arrived at the village where the compound was located accurately. Looking back, I saw four brick carvings on the lintel of the circular arch, which were written in ancient Chinese characters: "There is something in spring". The brushwork is vigorous, round, dignified and atmospheric. I can't help but stay here and stare at these four words for a long time, and I can't help feeling.
There are things in spring from Zhuangzi? De Chongfu ". Zhuangzi said: "Be kind to others, and be spring with things." Spring is a season of revival and vitality. The ancients believed that people and things should be kind to each other and give each other spring-like warmth. In fact, it is a manifestation of Taoism's indifference to the world, and it is also a manifestation that a gentleman can face everything calmly after understanding the way everything works. It embodies Zhuangzi's thought of harmony between man and environment.
It can be seen that Lanpei, a famous official of Taiyuan in the Qing Dynasty who was born in a scholarly family, was an honest and knowledgeable official. He experienced three emperors in his life: Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoguang. When he built this house, he carved these four words on the lintel of the back garden, and its meaning goes without saying. I wonder if he founded the "Jinquan Academy" and presided over the rewriting of Taiyuan County Records for the public. In private, he is a son, a husband and a father. His good family training and moral character set a brilliant example for future generations. And this will be passed down from generation to generation.
Further on, the open space between this door and another door in the yard is covered with dense and vibrant Pennisetum. It makes the ancient courtyard more lonely and desolate. Secretary Duan, alone, pushed aside a wolf's tail grass with his hands in front of him and stepped out a path with his feet. "Come here. I have opened the door for you. " Looking back, there are two doors, like open arms, facing us with the gesture of "friends come from afar". Suddenly, a warm current overflowed my mind.
We walked along this newly built path, through the tall wolftail grass, and reached the gate.
The depth of the old house is getting stronger and stronger with the movement of footsteps. I just feel that the door in front of me suddenly opened and just visited, magically connecting the past, present and future. This, originally is the main entrance. We just came in through the back door and walked here.
Outside the gate, on both sides of the gate are a pair of lifelike lions. Lions and lionesses have different shapes and are lifelike. Opposite the door, there is a tall blue brick wall. On both sides are two towering cement telephone poles. It seems to be out of harmony with the architectural style of the whole courtyard.
Secretary Duan explained that, indeed, this was not originally a telephone pole, but later we planted it on purpose to prevent the loss of cultural relics. Although unscientific, we had no other better way at that time. But it's okay now. Since it was designated as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in 20 12, it has been maintained by cultural relics experts. Siheyuan is a symbol of China's ancient and traditional culture. Qijia quadrangle is a typical quadrangle with four entrances in Qing Dynasty. Siheyuan are independent of each other in architectural style and use function, but they are interrelated. The layout of quadrangles is rigorous, and the architecture is elegant and exquisite, which fully embodies China's ancient architectural thought of harmony but difference, as well as the strict hierarchy and orderly management mode in feudal society. The extensive use of brick carvings, wood carvings and stone carvings with unique designs and exquisite shapes makes quadrangles have high cultural and artistic value in addition to practical value.

Hollow wooden lattice doors and windows, carved beams and painted buildings, are warm, delicate and subtle, showing elegance. The decoration of different patterns has different meanings, and the cultural meaning is profound. These architectural ideas, which combine various elements of China, are the survival wisdom of the Chinese nation. They are subtly permeated in people's daily life and are embodied and concentrated.
