The Historical Origin of Kolo Pig

Leke pig is a famous local pig breed in northwest Guizhou, with Leke Yi and Miao Township in Hezhang County as the central producing area. Wu Bo branch of Yi ancestors once established Yelang Kingdom on the land of "Zunyi in the east, Dading in the middle, Qujing in the west, Baodongchuan and Zhaotong in the northwest, Anshun and Xingyi in the south and Sicheng in the south". The Yi ancient book Yina elegy Yina Castle records that Yelang's castle is beneficial to Nai (namely Yelang), Zaibaihe Ga, Xupu Longdeng, Longdeng Dage and Duotong Rice Valley. Cola Nai is now cola, because there are pottery pigs in ancient Yelang cultural relics unearthed from tombs from the Warring States to the Han Dynasty, hence the name Cole Pig.
