Stroke order is the order of strokes in writing. Just like everything we do, there must be a sequence of what to do first and what to do next in order to get things done in an orderly manner. A Chinese character can have at least one or two strokes or as many as dozens of strokes. If there is no order, you write this way and I write that, there is no pattern. Not only will it not be beautiful, it will be chaotic. Writing according to the stroke order summarized over the years, just like the "optimal method" created by Comrade Hua Luogeng, can express the original meaning of Chinese characters more accurately and quickly, and as a calligraphy, it is even more important.
So, what are the stroke orders? In summary, they are as follows:
1. First left, then right. In a word, write the left side first, then the right side. Such characters include Da, Bei, Deng, Qian, etc.
2. Go up first and then down. Write the upper part first, then the lower strokes. Such characters include Shi, Li, Jing, etc.
3. First horizontally and then vertically. Write the horizontal drawings first, then the vertical drawings. Such characters include Wang, Qian, Kai, etc.
Four. Leave first and then suppress. Such characters include ru, tai, qian, etc.
5. First outside and then inside. Write the outer strokes first, then the inner strokes. Such characters include Yue, Nei, Tong, Sen, etc.
6. First outside, then inside and then seal. For example, for words such as sun, solid, country, and four, write the outer frame first, then write the inner side, and then seal it, completing three steps.
7. First the middle and then both sides. For such characters, the middle stroke is written first, and then the two sides. Words such as non, water, and office are used.
8. Special stroke orders, such as 心, BI, 区, 女, etc., it is a bit difficult to write according to the above seven stroke orders, because the stroke orders of these characters are quite special and are often used cross-wise. You also need to be more flexible when writing.
Mastering the stroke order is very helpful for learning calligraphy. Practicing calligraphy according to the stroke order will make your calligraphy better and better. I often see some students writing awkwardly because they don't follow the stroke order at first.
