Introduction to scenic spots in Yunfeng Mountain

Yunfeng Mountain is 305 meters above sea level. From the foothills to the top of the mountain, there are 37 stone carvings throughout the ages. The famous calligrapher and governor of Guangzhou in the Northern Wei Dynasty, Zheng Daozhao, left precious inscriptions on this mountain in 511 AD. There are 17 inscriptions, all carved on the steep cliffs in the mountain. The main stone carvings include "The Stele of Lord Zheng Wen", "Poems on Classical Books", "Poems of Guanhai Tong", etc.

The "94 Cultural Relics and Historic Sites Tourism" selected the stone carvings of Yunfeng Mountain as a selected scenic spot. Yunfeng Mountain is located 7.5 kilometers south of Laizhou City, with three peaks spread out from east to west. It resembles a traditional Chinese penholder, so the locals also call it "Beacon Mountain". It has become a fascinating place for Chinese and foreign tourists because of the "Yunfeng Carved Stone" on it. Especially people with relatively high cultural tastes rarely miss this place where cultural treasures gather.

In 1998, it was designated as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council. Zheng Daozhao's calligraphy is regarded as the best in regular script and is valuable information for studying the evolution of Chinese characters from official script to regular script. Yunfeng Hall, located in the mountains and forests, was built in 1984. It houses the Yunfeng Mountain Management Office, Zheng Daozhao Memorial Hall, rest rooms, shopping areas, etc.

This attraction mainly receives cultural tourism groups and receives more than 600 Japanese calligraphy enthusiasts every year. In recent years, domestic calligraphy enthusiasts and local people also often go hiking. From the urban area, go straight south for 4 kilometers and east for 3 kilometers along Sanlan Road, and you will arrive. The road into the mountain is a cement road with a width of 5.5 meters, leading directly to the Yunfeng large parking lot. Local specialties include Laizhou writing brushes, jade carvings, straw weaving, and seafood such as crabs, prawns, and clams.
