Yan Qilin is engaged in the creation of Han Fu and calligraphy with a rigorous attitude. He claims to be "the prosperous age of Wu Ban Zhang Ge, Shu Zong Yan Wei praising Beijing". Zhou Nan praised it as "the calligraphy and calligraphy have the same glory"; Shen Peng called it "the calligraphy and calligraphy are twin gems". Hu Guangzhou called his Fu "a contemporary Han Fu writer who the whole country dare not think of as a second person". Weihai Municipal Party Committee Secretary Cui Yuechen spoke highly of Mr. Yan's "Weihai Fu" and wrote a preface to "Weihai Fu". In order to write "Weihai Fu", Mr. Yan went to Weihai four times and stayed there for more than three months. He read historical materials in detail and visited the mountains and rivers. It took a year to finally complete this poem. This shows that Mr. Yan's attitude in writing the poem is extremely serious and responsible. "Weihai Fu" has also become a tool for contemporary urban propaganda.
Yan Qilin’s life belief is: “Articles admire eternal wealth, and calligraphy and ink rise and fall for centuries.” Its goal is to "lay out the world on every piece of paper and accommodate the universe in this book." The date when his poems came out was also when his calligraphy was published. In 1996, he held an exhibition of his self-written poems in Beijing and was praised by many experts. In 2002, he won the International Yanhuang Culture Gold Medal and was listed in the Outstanding Contribution Award with famous calligraphers such as Shen Peng and Liu Bingsen.
Yan's "Yichun Fu" has thirty-eight paragraphs and about 9,000 words, which is the largest number of words in a poem. It describes Yichun's geography, history, customs, special products, etc. . The poem praises Yichun's "beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful things and mellow winds", "Yuanshan's towering green mountains are beautiful for thousands of years, and the land is valued by people; the reputation of high-ranking scholars will last forever, and people will be passed down because of the place." Yan Fu is very good at eloquent presentation and exaggeration. His grammar is relatively authentic, his skills are solid, his momentum is grand, his dialogues are neat, inclusive and magnificent.
