Can two seals be printed on calligraphy?

usually, the name stamp is indispensable for a work. That is to say, there are stamps such as your surname, first name, or number, and elegant name. These stamps are the last stamp of the signature, indicating the source of this work. Usually only one, "the seal of so-and-so" and "so-and-so", or just a first name, no surname, or a pen name, is usually only one. There are also surnames with a chapter and names with a chapter, but very few. Some level works need to use leisure chapters, that is, chapters that are not used to identify the author's identity, but to decorate the layout. Detailed categories are found in the following article. For example, the first chapter is usually covered in the upper left corner of the work as an overall layout decoration to break the rigid pattern of too serious works, etc.

At the beginning of learning, as long as the name stamp is enough, you can learn how to cover the leisure stamp after you have learned a certain degree.

(1) Name stamp

The name stamp is the stamp for the signature of the inscription. Some names are linked together and some are separated. The inscription is stamped with the word "one name" as positive, and one surname can also be used. The name of the paragraph, printed; The word, then use the name stamp. If the money has a surname, you can use a name stamp, if the money has no surname, or if you don't sign it, you should use the name stamp to identify the author. The ancients used chapters and paid attention to etiquette; Anyone who is humble and young should be respected by the book, and should use the name seal; Words and seals used between peers; The elders should be given to the humble and young, so you can use another stamp. On the contrary, it is ridiculous and generous. Zhang Daqian, a modern painter, believes that the shape of the name stamp is "square is the best, round is ok, and if the waist is round and natural, it is not available."

Generally, there are two kinds of name stamps: Zhu Wen (Yang Wen) and Bai Wen (Yin Wen). When a calligraphy work is stamped with the names of two parties, it is best to have one Zhu and one Bai, and the two chapters are of appropriate size. When multiple chapters are used at the end of the paragraph, the order is the name chapter first, followed by the word and number chapter.

(II) Leisure chapter

Leisure chapter is also called layout chapter, including introduction chapter, border chapter, corner pressing chapter and waist chapter.

1. Introduction chapter

The introduction chapter is a chapter that is stamped on the upper right corner of calligraphy works by a bell, also known as the "conformal chapter", which is carved with the shape of stone. Generally, it should not be square, but semi-transparent, rectangular, circular, semi-circular, conformal gourd-shaped, natural and shaw-shaped. Whether or not to quote the first chapter on calligraphy works depends on the needs. If the first paragraph is too neat, it needs to be "deformed"; The seal at the end of the paragraph is too heavy and needs to be "upgraded"; The distribution of seals on the work is monotonous and needs to be "adjusted". At this time, the first chapter should be considered.

The introduction chapter can be divided into the following categories according to the content:

(1) The chapter of the name of Zhai, which was handed down from the world, began with the jade seal of Li Miduan's bedroom in the Tang Dynasty. After the Song and Yuan Dynasties, this trend became more and more popular, and almost everyone in the calligraphers had a seal of fasting. Wen Zhiming, a calligrapher of the Ming Dynasty, said: "Many of my bookstores were made in print." Zhai Hao is usually called Zhai, Tang, Shi, Lou, Ge, Guan, Xuan, An, etc., such as Weiqing Zhai, Xuexi Tang, Mo Jian Shi, Xiao Yin Lou, Songfeng Pavilion, Laiqin Pavilion, Rain Appreciation Xuan, Lotte An, etc.

(2) The chapter of elegance is the chapter of ancient auspicious words and phrases, which is full of meaning and elegance, or compiles philosophical and thought-provoking idioms and aphorisms, or records one's own interests and aspirations. There are many chapters on elegance and interest that encourage people to learn, such as "cutting", "learning from others", "being fond of books", "being diligent", "learning from the past without learning from others", "learning from others", "enjoying reading books", "being eager to learn makes people understand" and "getting it by accident after long-term accumulation". Those who show their feelings, such as relying on virtue, being clear-minded, having fun, enjoying happiness while suffering, cherishing the shade, being a willing ox, being clean and ice-clear, being indifferent to nature, and being old-fashioned, etc. There are those who express the interest of pen and ink, such as splashing ink, writing with pen, fragrant fields, spiritual interests, hiding from others, being obsessed with thinking, pursuing with hands, and working in inkstone fields. Some people wish good luck, such as "wish", "Changle", "beauty is not old", "auspicious day", "longevity" and "everlasting life".

(3) The year stamp is used to record the years of calligraphy works, such as Jiazi, Yechou, Bingyin or 1989, 199, 198s and 199s.

(4) The monthly stamp is used to record the monthly orders of calligraphy works, such as last spring, Ruyue and Silkworm Moon.

1. Border seal

Border seal refers to a seal that covers one side of a calligraphy work, and plays the role of blocking the border and gathering gas.

2. Corner-pressing seal

The seal that covers the corner of a calligraphy work is called a corner-pressing seal. Take the one in the upper right corner as "yingshou" and the one in the two corners as "betting angle". Stop the side chapter and just take one side; Corner-pressing seal can control both sides, close to the corners to play the role of "blocking the edges and sealing the corners", "supplementing the emptiness" and adjusting and stabilizing the picture.

3. Waist stamp

If a long calligraphy work, such as a banner, is only stamped with an introductory stamp on the upper right, and the middle appears to be empty, it can be stamped with a waist stamp, the content of which is mostly the native place of the calligrapher, or it can be printed in a small shape by the calligrapher's zodiac. The middle chapter should be smaller than the first chapter and the name chapter at the end of the paragraph, and the three chapters should not be covered in a straight line.

The above-mentioned idle chapters are actually not idle. If the bell is printed properly, it can not only play the role of pen and ink, but also play a role that pen and ink can not play. As Pan Tianshou, a modern painter, said, "The opening chapter and corner pressing chapter, like the name chapter, can play the role of making the color change on the screen echo, breaking the flat plate and stabilizing the balance."

(3) seal for collection

seal for collection is a seal for appreciating collectors. According to records, the seal of identification and collection also began in the Tang Dynasty and prevailed after the Song Dynasty. Emperor Taizong wrote the word "Zhenguan" as Lian Zhuyin, while Emperor Xuanzong wrote the word "Kaiyuan" as Lian Zhuyin, both of which were used for imperial Tibetan calligraphy and painting. Later, there were many names in the collection, such as collection, treasure and secret, examination and approval, appreciation and reading. The seal used for collection should be based on the size of calligraphy and painting, so as not to damage the letter and picture. Some collectors often destroy the picture when stamping for their own immortality, which should be guarded against.

third, the art of engraving

The seal on a calligraphy work is not arbitrarily engraved, but has certain statutes. If it is improperly stamped, it will not only add icing on the cake, but will be self-defeating and destroy the artistic effect of the whole work. Therefore, how to seal the seal needs to be taken seriously and carefully considered. Generally, the following points can be grasped:

1. The size of the seal is appropriate

It should match the size of the work, and it should be equal to the inscription. It can be smaller, but it can't be larger than the inscription. If it is big, it will be indecent. If the words are small and the paper is tight, you can use small joint beads to show your thoughtfulness. When two seals of different sizes are used in a work, the top one should be small and the bottom one should be large in order to be stable and avoid the disadvantages of top-heaviness. If several people cooperate, their seals should be of the same size.

2. The quantity should be less

The number of seals should be singular. There is a seal "use one without two, use three without four, cover with odd numbers, which means supporting yang and suppressing yin." The number of prints should not be too much, too much will be messy and even usurp the host's role. If a work is printed in several ways, it is necessary to choose different forms of printing to avoid similarity.

3. The position is appropriate

When printing, be careful about the position. There is always truth and falsehood and density in a work. The secret place is not compact enough, so it can be filled with a seal; If the sparse place feels empty, it can be enriched by the seal, just like moving a small "weight" to make the picture balanced and ironed. The position of the name and font size stamp at the end of the paragraph should be arranged accurately. If there is a blank under the title, it will be placed under the department; If there is no blank, it should be left rather than right. The seal at the end of the paragraph should be kept at an appropriate interval to avoid crowding and looseness. A work uses both the introductory chapter and the corner seal at the same time, so avoid putting it aside. The corner-pressing chapter should be placed in the lower left corner, which is diagonal to the leading chapter.

4. Weight balance

As far as printing color is concerned, Zhu Wenyin has a lighter weight, while Bai Wenyin has a heavier weight. For works with elegant ink color, Zhu Wenyin should be used to keep the two in harmony; A work with strong ink color should be printed in white, so that the red ink color is in strong contrast with the black ink color, which makes each other interesting. If a work is printed by several times, the printing color should be primary and secondary, that is, more ink with less white, more white with less ink, so that it is both varied and coordinated.

5. Consistent style

The style of the seal should be consistent with the style and style of the work. For example, a straightforward and urgent seal should not be stamped on neat and beautiful lower case works, and a bold and vigorous calligraphy work should not be stamped with a beautiful iron seal, otherwise it will be out of place and directly affect the artistic effect of calligraphy works. When using the leisure stamp, we should not only pay attention to making its content integrated with the text of the work, but also keep the content and style of the seal in harmony. For example, the seal of "the motherland's rivers and mountains" should not be carved in pieces, and the seal of "a generation of heroes" should not be carved slender and powerless. And so on.
