A vigorous calligraphy font

There are five powerful calligraphy fonts: seal script font, regular script font, official script font, running script font and cursive script font.

1, seal script.

It is the general name of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, Da Zhuan and Xiao Zhuan, and it is a kind of writing that shows the interest of setting each other off. The broad sense of seal script includes Oracle Bone Inscriptions and inscriptions on bronze. The seal script here is especially limited to the big seal script and the small seal script.

Big seal script refers to the inscriptions on bronzes, bronzes and six-country scripts, which retain the obvious characteristics of ancient hieroglyphics; Xiao Zhuan, also known as "Qin Zhuan", is the common language of Qin State, compiled by Li Si. Seal script, fine brushwork, many straight lines. There are Fang Bi, round pen and sharp pen, and there are many "hanging needles" for writing. The simplified font of Da Zhuan is characterized by uniform and neat font, which is easier to write than Zhuan.

2. Official script.

Han Li, also known as, is a common solemn font in Chinese characters. Its writing effect is slightly wide and flat, the horizontal painting is long and straight, and it is rectangular, paying attention to "silkworm head and goose tail" and "twists and turns". In order to cope with the increasingly complicated document processing, Cheng Miao, a prison official in Qin Dynasty, made this square font, which changed the structure of seal script and emphasized horizontal, vertical and tight frame.

Official script is much more convenient than seal script, which saves a lot of precious time for future generations and is also of great academic value. Lishu originated in the Qin Dynasty and reached its peak in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It has a great influence on later calligraphy, and the calligraphy circle is known as "Han Li Tang Kai".

3. Regular script.

Also known as block letters, real books and official books. It gradually evolved from official script and became more simple and vertical. It is a kind of writing improved from the official script font in Han dynasty, and now people call it block letters.

Because regular script is more convenient to write than official script, people in Han Dynasty used it to meet the needs of real life. Regular script reached its peak in the Tang Dynasty, and calligraphers such as Yan Zhenqing were magnificent and unique, which had a great influence on later generations. Regular script, Ci Hai is interpreted as "square and straight, which can be used as a model". This Chinese font is the current handwritten Chinese character.

4. Run the script.

Based on official script, a font between regular script and cursive script is developed to make up for the shortcomings of slow writing speed of regular script and illegible cursive script. Running script is not as good as official script, not as good as seal script. In other words, it is a variant of regular script. Because it is written like a human walking, it is called a running script.

It is generally believed that the running script originated in Liu Desheng in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and changed slightly in the early Wei Dynasty. The two kings made it very popular. It is very convenient to write and can achieve the purpose of emergency. The famous running script works of past dynasties are like the stars in the sky, especially the Preface to Lanting written by Wang Xizhi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The essence of running script is cursive or cursive. Those with more patterns than grass patterns are called "running patterns", and those with more grass patterns are called "running grass".

5, cursive script.

Formed in the Han Dynasty, it evolved on the basis of official script for the convenience of writing. There are grass bricks, Cao Li, wild grass, etc. The cursive script is simple in structure, correct in strokes, fluent and fast in writing, and difficult to identify. Among the five calligraphy styles, cursive script is the most abstract artistic feature, with the wonderful idea that "the book is inexhaustible, and the pen is inexhaustible". People who were able to write cursive script in past dynasties, such as Wang Xianzhi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Huai Su in the Tang Dynasty and Yu Youren in modern times, were able to create their own styles in chaos and feel beauty in madness.
