Jianyuan (Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty)
140 BC - 135 BC
Monarch Liu Che, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty
Overview of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty Liu Che He ascended the throne and became the emperor of the Han Dynasty, and began to use the reign title "Jianyuan". This is the first era name in Chinese history, the 6th year of ***.
Some people believe that the Jianyuan era name was not chosen by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty from the beginning, but that in order to please the emperor, some officials believed that "the change of the Yuan Dynasty should be based on Tianrui, and the Ruiming era should be used to choose the name." "No." was newly made in the third year of Emperor Wu Yuanding's reign, and further additions were made. But more people still think it is the first era name in Chinese history. Some people have verified that some of the cultural relics discovered have the inscriptions of the year before the Yuan Ding. The "Junqing Palace Epigraphy and Stone Records" also records cultural relics of the Han Dynasty inscribed with the year of the Yuan Dynasty. It is generally believed that the inscriptions on cultural relics should have been recorded at that time, so it can be judged that the year number before Yuanding was not added.
