Kunming Longmen climbs the Western Hills, and Youlong Gate is always needed. After Sanqing Pavilion, you will arrive at Longmen, which is located at the top of Xishan Mountain and on the cliff of Luohan Peak. From Longmen, you can reach the top of the mountain along the plank road, but the narrow plank road only allows two people to pass. The excavation of the plank road around Longmen Island not only increased the exit of Longmen, but also allowed tourists to move freely like running water, which increased their sense of security and added new attractions. After enjoying the exquisite stone carving art in Longmen, you can go through the Longmen Tunnel, climb the stone steps and reach the Longmen New Terrace.
Longmen Grottoes can be described as a famous scenic spot in Xishan Mountain. Located at the terminal of Xishan Scenic Area, it starts from Sanqing Pavilion in the north and reaches Datian Pavilion in the south. It is the largest and most exquisite Taoist grottoes in Yunnan. "Longmen Scenic Area" is characterized by "strangeness, strangeness, danger and seclusion", ranking first among many scenic spots in the western hills of Kunming, enjoying a high reputation at home and abroad, and most tourists who come to Kunming will come here. Therefore, there is a saying that "I don't want to play Xishan, I don't want to go to Kunming, I don't want to go to Longmen, I just want to go to Xishan in vain". It took 72 years for Longmen Grottoes to be excavated from 178 1 to 1853. Wu Laiqing, Yang Rulan and Yang organized many masons to excavate in three stages.
Longmen and Datian Pavilion connect the sky and face the cliff. On both sides of the stone pavilion, calligrapher Zhao Heqing carved couplets in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China: it is difficult to stand firm; In the middle of nowhere, you'd better keep calm. Looking at Longmen Stone Carvings, Stone Chambers and Cliff Stone Carvings, we can see that many inscriptions left by literati in past dynasties are treasures of calligraphy and Cliff Stone Carvings. Longmen Grottoes are listed as key cultural relics protection units in Kunming.
