Liu Hong’s calligraphy, seal script and stone drum inscriptions, Han Li and quartz, regular script and Tang Kai script, cursive script and Huaisu, all over the stele and inscriptions, insisting on tracing back to the source, starting from the traditional basic culture, coupled with his knowledge of ancient characters. The in-depth research adds a deeper cultural flavor to his calligraphy. Liu Hong was good at running script and studied the styles of Er Wang, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Wang Duo and others. There are many Han steles such as "Han Sangong Mountain Stele", "Cao Quan Stele", "Zhang Qian Stele", "Songshan Stone Carvings" and "Shimen Ode". Mr. Liu Hong's calligraphy does not pursue the similarity of glyphs. He is more able to understand the ancient writers' brushstrokes and embody their artistic conception. He uses seal script and official script to write running script and cursive script, and his writing style is bold, vigorous, arbitrary and eclectic.
