Hu Yan's artistic achievements

Hu Yan wrote three poems about Hongya Mountain, which are seven-rhythm poems, entitled "House Map of Hongya Mountain". Hu Yan's Collected Works of Yi 'an is not included, so it should be a work outside the collection. Hongya Mountain is located in Xishan, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, with beautiful peaks and deep forests. It has been 30 years since Hu Yan was recommended to travel north and south at the age of 24 and in the 14th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (14 16). "When I am old, I can't help but think of the past, looking at Hongya Mountain and being fascinated." Therefore, the author combined several articles he had done with those in which the cabinet minister was Hongya, and asked the calligrapher Chen Zongyuan to draw a picture of Hongya Mountain's house. These three poems are written for painting, expressing the inner yearning for seclusion, cultivation and serving the peaceful people. The last two sentences of the first song, "Chen Lang's chest is like a brush, and valleys can be displayed in the painting", praised Chen Zongyuan's painting skills. This calligraphy stroke is vigorous and powerful, and its spirit is exposed. With a handsome and cool demeanor, it was a good calligraphy structure when Hu Yan was 56 years old.

Hu Yan's Three Orders and other poems are included in Ming Ci Collection.
