Written to my passing alma mater "Feng Hui Middle School"

? I graduated from my alma mater, Fenghui Middle School, in 1986. At that time, Fenghui Middle School was considered a prestigious school in Chang'an District. Students from many nearby towns and villages come here because of its reputation. There are many dormitory students in the school, and the learning atmosphere is very strong. Every year, the high school entrance examination ranks among the best in Chang'an County. At that time, there were eight classes in ninth grade and more than 1,000 students in the school. Classrooms on campus are neatly arranged. Covering an area of ??more than 40 acres, it can be considered a large township middle school. The campus is full of big trees, flowers and plants, with a strong cultural atmosphere and picturesque scenery. Although the classrooms and tables and benches are a bit simple, everything there is unforgettable.

? However, I have a fate with my alma mater. I graduated in early 1993 and was assigned to teach at Dongzhu Village Primary School. I was complaining about being around little kids every day, and I wasn't happy with the remoteness. At this time, Teacher Li Yong from Fenghui Middle School wanted to return to his hometown of Zhucun to teach, and we happened to be swapped positions. So at the end of August 1993, I accidentally returned to my alma mater, Fenghui Middle School, and renewed my relationship with my alma mater. At that time, there were more than 40 teachers in my alma mater, most of whom were over 40 years old, and most were even over 50 years old. There were almost no teachers under 30 years old. I was considered "young and promising" at that time. So the school made me serve as secretary of the Youth League branch, and I worked there for nearly ten years. He applied to join the party in 1998 and became an official party member in 1999. 26 years have passed, during which 7 principals accompanied us through Fenghui Middle School!

When I went to Fenghui Middle School, I originally wanted to teach some science subjects, but at that time the school only lacked Chinese and English teachers, so I chose to teach eighth grade English. Originally, English was my worst subject. I am not sure about the subject, but I am working hard. I believe hard work pays off. Unexpectedly, I was teaching ninth-grade English in 1994 and took it to the high school entrance examination in 2016. More than 20 years are just a blink of an eye, where did the time go? Inadvertently, my youth was spilled here! Everyone may have their own glorious years! In the 1990s, our school's comprehensive performance was almost unrivaled and invincible. Teachers and students were satisfied. We were proud of it. Especially in the 1996 high school entrance examination, our school's comprehensive performance ranked second in the county. Our school's English subject also ranked first in the county and was well received. Commendations from the school and superiors. Of course, hard work brings reward. The work pressure in our school at that time was very high. A few months before the high school entrance examination, all the ninth-grade teachers lived and ate on campus. They almost always made up for classes on weekends, and had to study in the evening until almost ten o'clock. . I remember that teachers often asked for leave during evening self-study classes. Since I lived on campus at the time, I often served as a substitute. Sometimes in the winter, when I was already asleep at night, Teacher Tian Pingli, the director at the time, would often shout downstairs, asking me to take my place in the self-study class, which was very annoying. In short, the graduating class teachers we have taught for many years have worked hard and suffered a lot, but they have also gained a lot of honors. By the end of the 1990s, the situation in our school had undergone great changes. Young people entered the school in large numbers. The number of teachers in the school reached more than 60 and the number of students reached nearly 1,200. The teaching team is young and full of vitality. This was the time when our school was at its peak. The school held many activities every year, and the leadership ideas at that time were probably quite avant-garde. There are spring outings, autumn outings, dances held every Wednesday at school, and frequent dinner parties. On weekends and in our spare time, we also play cards together, go hiking, etc. This place is full of laughter and laughter, and it is also the place where our team works and competes. It is a gathering of elites and everyone refuses to admit defeat. At that time, when the five schools in Xiliu District had the unified examination, our school almost took the first place. At that time, we were proud to live in Fenghui Middle School, which was also the envy of teachers from surrounding schools!

? After 2000, most of the teachers in our school regard the school as their home, and the campus is very popular. A large group of children had a lot of fun. Adults, there are people who play cards after work. Those who played basketball, those who played table tennis, those who chatted... Everything about Fenghui Middle School at that time is endlessly memorable. In particular, I will never forget Teacher Hu Zaiquan who passed away last year. He brought a lot of laughter to us all. He was cheerful and enthusiastic. He often helped every teacher and student selflessly. If any couple fights, Teacher Hu is the first. He arrived and waited until the weather calmed down. If any family encountered financial difficulties, he would be the first to donate generously. If any child has no one to take care of him, everyone will remember Teacher Hu.

He is also a good athlete on the sports field. He is also the children's leader of our school. The children love him, the teachers love him, and everyone here misses him! Teacher Hu has been with all of us at Fenghui Middle School for many years. He is my closest friend, whom I have known for years and years. I will always remember you, the number one person in Fenghui Middle School... Teacher Hu! In addition, there are Zhao Hongwei, the best chef in Fengzhong, Zhang Li, a tourism organizer, Lao Xu, a poetry writer in Fengzhong, Principal Wang, a video producer, Zheng Aman, a music teacher from Tianlai, Lao Shao, the most enthusiastic brother, Zou Qiang, the master of Tai Chi, and calligrapher Teacher Li Zhenning, a journalist who remembers history, Fengzhong’s image spokesperson Zhao Xiaodi, Fengzhong’s outstanding broadcasters and writers Tian Ruili and Zhang Ping, long-distance runner Hu Wei, mountaineering expert Lao Tian, ??the first happy person Xiang, computer expert Jiang Tuo, Zajia Lao Hui, Zou Dashuai, Feng Cairen, etc., without any of you, Fengzhong would be a little less glorious. With you, it feels like home, and I feel proud to have you!

In 2008, after the Wenchuan earthquake, the teaching building of our school was designated as a dangerous building. In the following years, teachers and students of our school spent time in prefabricated houses. Everyone is having a tough time. After 2011, we returned to a brand new teaching building. In the following years, the country hardened the playground, planted lawns, and made the campus garden. The environment was repaired everywhere, and the beautiful campus was displayed in front of everyone. But since 2010, the number of students has been decreasing year by year. The campus, which once had nearly 1,200 students, had fewer than 150 students in 2017. I think the main reason may be due to the vigorous development of private schools, which has caused a large loss of students starting from elementary school. To add insult to injury, times have changed. The area around our school is facing development, and the surrounding villagers have almost completely relocated. Without students, my alma mater, Fenghui Middle School, is about to disappear in the long river of history. Before the Spring Festival of 2019, all the teachers will move. From now on, we will work in Xinglong Middle School. Everyone's heart is filled with mixed feelings, reluctance and sadness. Fenghui Middle School is not so much our unit as it is our second home. Let me take one last look at you, my alma mater, Fenghui Middle School, and I will keep you in my memory forever.
