1. Being pro-active
Being able to write does not mean mastering the art of calligraphy. Only by mastering the techniques and knowledge of calligraphy skillfully can we improve the artistic creation of calligraphy from general practical writing to appreciation.

As far as learning calligraphy is concerned, "foreign money" means learning from outsiders, learning from the advantages of outsiders, and absorbing or even "grabbing" all the good things from outsiders. If you don't learn from outsiders, you can't enrich and cultivate yourself. Among the "sending foreign money", the traditional treasure house has the richest foreign money. This treasure house is open to everyone, depending on whether you take it or not, whether you take one or many pieces, whether you take it once or often. People can't be rich without taking treasures from others! From this point of view, only by combining people's talent with the hard-working spirit of being eager to learn and good at learning, can we be talented and not dabble, devote ourselves wholeheartedly, forget all about eating and sleeping, persevere in "retiring from writing" and be knowledgeable and thoughtful, can we be agile, handy, and combine rigidity with softness in calligraphy art, and create a good work with its own characteristics and style.
third, based on emotion
The love and interest in calligraphy art is the premise and foundation for learning calligraphy well. For a good calligraphy tablet and a good calligraphy work, we are often never tired of reading it and practicing it, and we can't put it down. We will gain once after reading it and improve it once after practicing it. This is what feelings are about, and this is the charm of art. Without this hobby and feeling, it is impossible to learn calligraphy well.
Calligraphy is the art of expressing emotions. We should not only pour people's emotions into learning and appreciating calligraphy art, but also show people's strong emotions in calligraphy creation. Yuan Chen Yi once said in "The Essentials of Hanlin": "Emotions, sorrows and joys have their own scores. Happiness means harmony with words, anger means coarseness with words, sorrow means depression with words, and joy means smoothness with words.
