After his death, Yuan Shikai gave his sons 6.5438+0.2 million silver dollars each, his daughters got 8,000 silver dollars, plus a box of his relics, and all his wives got a foreign house as a place for the aged. Although Yuan Shikai had fifteen daughters, three of them died young, four, eight and fifteen respectively. The eldest daughter, Yuan Bozhen, married the son of the Governor of Liangjiang and became Zhang Ailing's cousin. Her second daughter married Xue Guanlan, the grandson of a minister in the late Qing Dynasty. The third daughter's real name is Yuan, and later she changed her name to Yuan. Most of the other daughters died of illness.
When Yuan Shikai restored the monarchy, Yuan Dingke, the eldest son, looked forward to being a prince. Later, after Yuan Shikai's death, he lost the greatest dependence, so he kept a low profile and lived in Tianjin, Beijing and other places.
