Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War

1940, the Eighth Route Army launched a hundred regiments war against the Japanese army in North China, which contained a large number of Japanese troops and played a positive role in supporting frontal battlefield operations and striving for a better situation.

Kill the enemy bravely and fight for a cavity of blood.

In the exhibition hall of China People's Revolutionary Military Museum, a humble medal is displayed. It is 7.5 cm long and 4.5 cm wide. Although it looks rough, the medal embroidered with the words "Hundred Regiments Battle" bears witness to the days when we live, a Eighth Route Army soldier who fought bloody battles.

1940, taking advantage of the rapid advance of the German army in Europe and the inability of Britain and France to look around, Japan stepped up its attack on the anti-Japanese base areas behind our enemy lines, and stepped up the implementation of the "Suzhou-Zhengzhou Construction Plan" and the "cage policy" with railways as columns, highways as chains and bunkers as locks in North China in an attempt to completely destroy the anti-Japanese base areas behind our enemy lines.

After the campaign was launched, the Eighth Route Army officers and soldiers and the people in the anti-Japanese base areas hated the Japanese "cage policy" and their enthusiasm for participating in the war was unprecedented. They have successively invested more than 200,000 troops in the 105 regiment, and many local guerrillas and militia also actively participated in the war. As a result, the Battle of Zheng Tai developed into a Hundred Regiments War.

Yangquan is located in the middle section of Zheng Tai Railway, and the commanding height in the southwest of Yangquan is Lion Mountain. As soon as the Hundred Regiments War started, the Eighth Route Army129th Division sent troops to seize Lion's Brain Mountain to ensure the safety of Zheng Tai railway troops attacking the west of Yangquan.

"At that time, it was the rainy season, and the clothes of officers and men were often wet. They lay in the cold and wet trenches, always maintaining high morale. In the face of the gas bombs used by the Japanese army, the officers and men did not retreat at all and stubbornly persisted for 6 days and 6 nights. " In front of the Monument of Hundred Regiments War on the main peak of Lion Brain Mountain, commentator Wei Shi said emotionally that the Battle of Lion Brain Mountain had made great contributions to the victory of the first stage of Hundred Regiments War.

"According to the statistics of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters, in the three and a half months before the Hundred Regiments War, with the close cooperation of local armed forces and the broad masses of the people, the Eighth Route Army fought 1824 times, annihilated more than 20,000 Japanese troops, 5,000 puppet troops, captured more than 280 Japanese troops, and captured 2,993 Japanese and puppet troops' strongholds, destroying railways. Zhou Xiaoning said that the Hundred Regiments War brought into play the prestige of the anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians behind the enemy lines led by China's * * * production party, restrained the Japanese army, delayed its "southward advance", played a positive role in supporting frontal battlefield operations and striving for a better situation, and enhanced the confidence of the military and civilians throughout the country in winning War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

After 80 years of changes, the deafening gunfire in the past has long been calm, and the green hills covered with the blood of martyrs are more lush. The names of famous martyrs in the Hundred Regiments War are engraved on the promenade at the top of Lion Brain Mountain. The Monument to the Hundred Regiments War, built to commemorate the victory of the Hundred Regiments War, looks like a sharp bayonet and goes straight into the sky, showing the world the great anti-Japanese spirit tempered by War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

The footsteps of history have echoed for a long time, and the awe-inspiring righteousness left in the depths of the Taihang will last forever.
