It is said that this couplet was written by a disgruntled boudoir woman. The poem is entitled "Love Song of Pan Langgui, a woman from Gaoliang Village": "A 28-year-old woman dresses up skillfully, and her bridal chamber changes her groom every night. Thousands of people have a pair of jade arm pillows and little lips. " The author has not studied it, and the whole poem is in the form of vernacular, which is simple and easy to understand.
The plot mainly tells that the husband is away for a long time, and the women in the village work hard at housework, always looking forward to her husband's return, so they go out to find her husband. I didn't expect my husband to linger in a brothel, so I wrote this poem to express my tragic situation.
Although poetry does not have a particularly high ideological level and a low level of literary attainments, the famous sentence "A pair of jade pillows is worth a thousand people, and a little lip angle is worth a thousand guests" is already a masterpiece. If it were anything else, this effect might not be achieved.
Due to the particularity of its location, the expression of ancient brothel couplets is not as elegant as that of formal poetry couplets, and most of them present poems that are easy to understand.
For another example, one of the couplets reads "Couples honeymoon quilts every day, and flowers in the bridal chamber every night", which also vividly depicts men and women having fun in brothels, no less than modern people's pursuit of sex. Vulgar but true, the talent displayed in it can be seen.
