Why can't I read the curator's handwriting?

Maybe it's not your fault that you can't read the curator's handwriting. Just like dolphins, only they can understand the language.

Two days ago, I happened to take part in a competition called "The Birth of a Curator". The contestants are all students from the School of Humanities, Central Academy of Fine Arts, and they are likely to become professional curators and critics. Next, I will briefly talk about why we can't read the curator's words.

First, they are real art practitioners, and their knowledge and understanding of art is much deeper than that of ordinary people. They know about modernism, postmodernism, nihilism, realism, fauvism and other artistic knowledge that we can hardly see through literally. This is a fact that we have to admit.

Second, the object of the exhibition may not be you. Many art galleries in London are closed to ordinary people at any time. You need to make an appointment in advance to visit the art gallery. People who go to the exhibition are also people who have certain opinions and studies on art, and may be appreciators, critics, collectors, scholars and so on. They have an understanding of art, in other words, they have a foundation. This kind of exhibition is not aimed at the general public, and of course it is not easy for us to understand. Although we have a certain perception of beauty, we don't have a deep understanding like professionals. Everyone has their own familiar and professional fields. So you don't have to feel ignorant.

Third, they are really mysterious. You have to understand this. Usually, master works are closer to ordinary people, but learned people can't reach the master level. These curators are still groping, and the theories he can present are more practical and less sensory, because the school teaches seemingly profound theories and academic knowledge, and without practice, it is impossible to grasp the subtle relationship. Curators also need to grow in interaction with the audience. Before that, they can only fill in the blanks with theoretical knowledge.
