A picture book about cats-my super stupid cat

Whether this is an elephant or a cat, some can't tell. On the cover, an innocent elephant stared at us. It was clearly painted like an elephant, but the author said it was "my super stupid cat". Text/photo: Ji Le? Basel, translated by Wu Juan, published by Comic Publishing House in 2009.

This book has two title pages. On the first page, the title is very small, and there is a line of fine print on the huge white paper of 12 (visually no more than the fourth font). When I opened it again, it was still the title page. The font suddenly doubled, accounting for almost one-third of the page, and the word "my" was particularly large. Cats are small and elephants are big. The author put us in such a contradiction between right and wrong from the beginning. You don't have to doubt or doubt that he just wants to write like this. So we can see that there is an elephant painted everywhere in the book, but the text always says it is a cat. In fact, the author has never worried about elephants and cats. From his letter to the curator of the Paris Museum of Natural History, we can see that "I have never painted an elephant in this book, but I painted a cat", the appearance of the elephant and the soul of the cat. Let's understand it this way.

The interweaving expression of words and pictures and the sharing of narrative responsibility are a major feature of this book. Sometimes words are understated, and pictures are responsible for the fullness of details. "My cat is full of sleep, food and sleep." These three short sentences are illustrated by nine frames. The "cat" lies or lies, or stands or stands, stretching its limbs, which is very dynamic. This vivid picture makes the story come alive at once. Sometimes the words are not enough, and the pictures are extended and supplemented. "But most of the time, my cat doesn't need a sofa." At the end of the text, the picture part sorts out the pictures of the cat hiding under the book, getting into the washing machine, lying on the TV and lying on the workbench.

Almost all the words and pictures in the whole book are in such a state of alienation, connection, interweaving and supplementing, which will bring a lot of excitement to young readers, such as the sentence "My cat has been living in a clean apartment and has never seen a mouse". With the picture, the "cat" panicked when it saw a picture of a mouse sticking out its tongue, and stood on its head, and the children would curl up with laughter.

This is a book that worries me and my children. The children are worried about choosing colors for the big stupid cat with the author: tiger spots, leopard prints, long white hair, cow-like … and I am worried about the world famous paintings who was ravaged by the author (the author turned the protagonist of every famous painting into a big stupid cat). Finally, we all got something: black and white should be the color of badger, and white with long hair may be white bear. Finally, the children decided that the gold one with the note was the best. Those the world famous paintings should have the birth of Venus, boys playing flute, apples and oranges, etc!

This book uses humorous and relaxed language and vivid and interesting pictures to show the owner's love for an animal: make it lazy, naughty and naughty, and work, play and play with it. When you are completely immersed in this book, you won't be entangled in elephants or cats. Since the author says this is his super stupid cat, so be it! Interestingly, the children never bothered about it from beginning to end, and the funny story deeply attracted her. This book won the French Picture Book Award-Bread Tree Award, and the author's imaginative and creative spirit should be the root cause of infecting children.

What if you compare an elephant to a cat? You still won the hearts of the children!
