Zhang Xueliang's self-report: How can I believe in Christianity? Many people want to know how I believe in Christianity. I'll tell you something about my belief in Christianity now. I think since God has given me such a long life span, he wants me to testify for him, preach the gospel and lead people to believe in God and Jesus Christ and be saved.
When I was young, I often played in the YMCA in Fengtian. I met many Christians there. Sometimes I go there to listen to speeches. I admire Mr. Zhang Boling, President of Nankai School, Mr. David Z. T. Yui, Director-General of Shanghai Youth Conference, and especially Mr. Pratt, Director-General of Fengtian YMCA at that time. He loves me very much and is willing to arrange for me to study in the United States. They all gave me a deep influence. Invisibly, I also have a good impression on Christianity. Later, because I entered the Wujiang Club in Fengtian. After graduation, I went to work in the army and rarely interacted with Christians.
Then from Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Hunan to Guizhou. During this time, I have been studying Ming history. When I arrived in Taiwan Province Province, I felt the need for a belief. At that time, the person in charge assigned to us by the intelligence agency was a Buddhist. He talked to me about Buddhism and arranged for me to meet some Buddhist wizards in Hsinchu. I talked with them several times and bought a lot of Buddhist books to study until we moved to Kaohsiung Fort. One day, Mrs. Jiang visited. She asked me what books I read. I told her that I was studying Buddhism. She said, "Han Qing, you are going the wrong way again. You may think that I believe that Christianity is stupid, but many famous and great people in the world are Christians. Are they all idiots? " She said that she also wanted me to study Christianity. I told her that I really wanted to read some English. She went to ask Ambassador Dong Xianguang, who had just returned from America, for help.
After they come, they often come to our place. Dong Xianguang's wife is a very devout Christian. She will tell us about Christianity when she comes. They gave me a biography of Martin Luther and I was very moved. In the future, Mr. Dong and I will use an English version of the Christian book "Meet in Calvary" given to me by Mr. Jiang as teaching materials, and I will translate this book into Chinese.
Soon after we moved back to Taipei, Mr. and Mrs. Dong went to America. Mrs. Jiang sent someone to accompany me to worship in Shilin Kaige Hall. Listen. I met Reverend Zhou Lianhua there. Later, he will come to help me read the Bible and study theology. Because the Chinese translation of theological books is not suitable, Pastor Zhou suggested enrolling in the correspondence course of Baptist theology. I have been studying theology since then. I studied for more than ten years before I got my diploma. Because of my poor English, every assignment I send has to be translated into Chinese by Pastor Zhou and recorded on tape. After listening, I answered questions in Chinese, and then Pastor Zhou translated them into English and sent them back to the seminary. There was a time when Pastor Zhou went abroad and I read slowly with my own dictionary. That's why it took so long. Thank God, when I was reading the Bible, God's light came into my heart, making me understand his will and the words in the Bible, and his power changed me. His love let me know that he loved me and gave up himself for me. So that I can be saved by believing in Jesus Christ. I was baptized on 1964.
God's arrangement for me is really wonderful. He first brought me into contact with Christians, then let his servants and maids lead me, then gave me a quiet environment and a long time to study theology, and then arranged for me to come to Hawaii. I never thought of coming to Hawaii. Shortly after his arrival, he was taken to the Christian Congregation by our relatives and friends to attend church and listen to the sermon of the Cheng family and the pastor. Ask the Lord to lead us to do what should be done, and ask the Lord to stop what should not be done. I used to be a dissolute person. Now I give myself to Jesus Christ. Everything is the glory of the Lord. People have all kinds of opinions about me. Some people say I am good, but I am not that good; Call me bad, I'm not that bad. God knows that I, who was born in the army, can become a Christian today not by myself, but by the grace of the Lord. The Lord was really good to me and saved me from my sins. I'm free now and I'm not afraid of anything. I hope you can all believe in God.
