Thank you, Communist Party
Born in the "post-90s" and growing up in the "new century", going to school is a very common thing, but when my parents were young, It’s different. I heard from my father that my family was very poor at that time and it was very difficult to go to school. In order to go to school, I would get up at five or six in the morning when others were still sleeping. I would first pull manure into the ground or sweep leaves to fertilize and do some farm work before going to school. When I was in school, the teacher wrote on the blackboard, and my father and his classmates used twigs on the ground to learn. The ink was made by mixing the ashes scraped from the bottom of the pots with water to make "ink". After returning home from school, in order to study quietly, I studied at night under a kerosene lamp that had a hole in the wall. As a result, my eyes became tired and myopic.
My mother has been studying in the city since she was a child, and the conditions are slightly better. There were several of them lying on a concrete floor in class. If they wanted to read extracurricular books, they had to pool money with their classmates to buy a book and take turns reading it. Although my grandfather and grandma were both teachers, my mother said that life was very hard at that time. If I could eat minced meat once a week, I would be very happy if I could wear new clothes during the Chinese New Year.
Listening to our parents reminiscing about their past, and then looking at us now, it was so hard for them when they were young, but we are so happy. We have everything we need in terms of food, and many of our classmates have become chubby from eating. We wear all brand-name clothes, and any piece of clothing costs hundreds of dollars. School supplies are replaced with new ones if they are slightly damaged. Not only do we have our own special bookcases, Some students even have their own dedicated computers; the classrooms have air conditioning in summer and heating in winter... In the words of our parents, we were "born under a red flag and grew up in a honeypot."
The reason why we have such good conditions is mainly due to the party's good policies of reform and opening up. It is reform and opening up that has made our motherland rich and powerful, and people's living standards have significantly improved. The party and state leaders pay special attention to education, so that we can now study and study in spacious and bright classrooms. We are the beneficiaries of the reform and opening up policy. I must study hard so that I can serve the motherland when I grow up and add luster to the five-star red flag with my own practical actions.
