Original text: The rain falls softly on the vernal equinox, and the slanting wind from the willow bank brings the guests home. The season is late in the north, so it can be seen that there is green waist fat early.
Introduction: Xu Xuan (916-991) was a writer and calligrapher from the Five Dynasties to the early Northern Song Dynasty. The courtesy name is Dingchen. He was originally from Kuaiji (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang). His father, Xu Yanxiu, was an official in Shaoyin, Jiangdu, so he lived there, so he was born in Guangling (now Yangzhou, Jiangsu).
Xu Xuan was able to compose at the age of ten and did not wander around rashly. As famous as Han Xizai, he is also known as "Han Xu". At the beginning of his career, Yang Wu was the school secretary. He also served as the three masters of the Southern Tang Dynasty, and he was an official of Zhigao, a scholar of Zhongshu, a bachelor of Hanlin, and a minister of the Ministry of official affairs. Later, the master Li Yu returned to the Song Dynasty and served as a regular servant to Sanqi, which was known as "Xuqi Province" in the world. At the beginning of Chunhua, he was demoted to Sima Jingnan, who was marching in the army.
Xu Xuan is good at calligraphy and is good at Li Si Xiaozhuan. He and his younger brother Xu Kai had a literary name, and they were both good at primary school, and they were known as the "Er Xu of Jiangdong" in the world. During Yongxi's reign (984-987), he was ordered to revise "Shuowen Jiezi" together with Ju Zhongzheng, Ge Tuan and other scholars. He added 19 new words to the main text, and based on the inheritance of the classics and the common use of popular texts. The 402 words that are not included in the book are appended to the main text, and are known as the "Da Xu Edition". He also participated in the compilation of "Wenyuan Yinghua" and wrote 30 volumes of collected works and several volumes of "Questioning Theory". Xu Xuan has made outstanding achievements in philology, and has also made outstanding achievements in poetry and prose creation. His works are included in "Complete Tang Dynasty", "Complete Tang Poetry" and "Complete Song Dynasty".
