The origin of the name Muye Mountain

Muye Mountain means "high mountain" in the Khitan language. According to the Records of Liao History and Geography, Muye Mountain is located in Yongzhou.

According to the Report of Archaeology Institute of Inner Mongolia and Aerial Photography Archaeology of Southeast Inner Mongolia published by the China History Museum in July 1982, Yongzhou was defined as "located between the Xilamulun River and the Laoha River in the southeast of Baiyintalasumu, Ongniud Banner". From Yongzhou to the west, there is Hailasu Mountain, and then to the west is Haijinshan Mountain. According to the "Place Names of Onniute Banner", Haijinshan is the general name of Hala Jinshan, Hanshan Mountain and Guozhu Mountain, with a total area of 16 square kilometers. The so-called Haijinshan Ranch is now located, which can be regarded as a high mountain and a great river.
