Shang Zejun’s content

In 1998, a once-in-a-century flood ravaged the land of China, and countless dams were destroyed. As a former soldier, Shang Zejun could no longer sit still. He said: "I saw monstrous floods, rolling waves, and many touching and heart-wrenching scenes on TV and in newspapers. I had one thought in my mind: I want to go to the front line!" When the seventh flood peak in the Yangtze River Basin came, Shang Zejun resolutely set off for Wuhan. On the front line of flood fighting and rescue operations, in those sleepless days and nights, on the Yangtze River embankment, and in the residences of disaster victims, Shang Zejun often burst into tears. Dragging his clumsy body, he stood in the water with the soldiers and civilians on the front line for more than 20 hours. "I see the cohesion among the soldiers and ordinary people wearing camouflage uniforms that will never die. We must build a dam that connects hearts. This is the strongest!" Shang Zejun said. After returning, he wrote vigorously and with tears in his eyes wrote a series of poems such as "Defending Homeland" and "The Backbone of China", which were published in dozens of newspapers and periodicals such as "People's Daily", "Wenhui Po", "Poetry Magazine", and "Liberation Army Daily". Powerful launch. In October 1998, the long and lyrical poem "The Decisive Battle of China in 1998" was published.

Shang Zejun’s long poem, which took three years to compose, has aroused strong repercussions in society and received attention and praise from the literary world. This long poem was published by October Literature and Art Publishing House, and was subsequently selected and published in newspapers such as People's Daily, People's Literature, Poetry Magazine, October, and Guangming Daily. On the eve of the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games, the Key Works Support Office of the Chinese Writers Association held a seminar on "Olympic China". The participating experts and scholars spoke highly of this work.

In Shang Zejun’s poems, it is difficult to see romantic stories. Reading his poems, you always have a heavy feeling. "The soul of my poetry lies in being close to reality, caring for people's livelihood, and praising the national spirit."

Poet Shang Zejun said: "We know that poetry can enhance people's spiritual life, and in modern society, the important role of electricity is Needless to say, poetry and electricity cannot leave our lives, but many people can live without poetry and cannot survive without electricity. In last year’s ice, snow and freezing rain, we already knew the importance of electricity. Therefore, it is worthwhile to praise the power builders in poetry."

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, another long poem "Flying China" by poet Shang Zejun has been completed recently. This is another masterpiece of the poet after "Warm China", which he wrote on the front line of fighting against ice and snow in 2008, "National Memorial: Poems about Wenchuan", which he wrote personally at the scene of the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, and "Olympic China", a long poem written for the Beijing Olympics. Parts of this long poem have been excerpted and serialized in some newspapers and periodicals, arousing repercussions and attention in society and poetry circles.
