Modern poetry originated from Hu Shi’s New Culture Movement (written in 1916 and published in New Youth in 1917)
The term modern poetry comes from the New Culture Movement founded by the great poet Ji Xian in 1953 "Modern Poetry" quarterly, and later the modern school; Ji Xian proposed the "six tenets" of modern poetry and advocated the "horizontal transplantation" of new poetry. This was opposed by Qin Zihao, who also put forward his own six principles. This was the first debate in modern poetry.
Later, there was the "Guan-Tang Incident". After complex debates, the impact was: to reflect on the relationship between modern poetry and Western poetry, and to start paying attention to the reference of Chinese classical culture in new poetry.
